  6. Hi, I had my VSG same day as you and all is great except the sameness pain you describe. Stabbing pain on the right, vey sore when I bend down, do stairs etc. nights are fine, day is worse when I move so trying to take it easy, walk as much as possible. I am lucky I have had no other awful experiences, had no nausea nor vomiting, and apart from tightness in the chest when sipping fluids all is good. All the best! 7. I hope it stops soon, it's pretty bad, it's a stinging, burning pain! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  10. Hi, I am 5 days post op. No regrets, although I feel a bit emotional every now and then, guessing it's the drugs and the trauma to the body. Pain has been less than expected, although it is painful in the larger incision where the stomach is removed through. The initial visit to the surgeon was great, mine is very friendly and I was not high risk at BMI 37. Good visit with dietician, which is the most important part of it, to know what you can eat etc. I was in hospital 4 nights, didn't want to rush home. Being home near the kitchen yesterday made me think of food. Taking one day at a time. All the best!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  18. Hi, I am from Sydney, had surgery 4 days ago, still in hospital. All going better than expected, little pain, on full fluids, not hungry. Going home tomorrow. Private insurance covering hospital, out of pocket will be about $6K, most of the doctors fees as Medicare and fund pay very little. $22K sounds very expensive Chaning.my.life Would love to be in touch with local people going through the same thing. Warm regards Marivero
