  1. Also sleeved in Nov, I feel like it's been slow for me, but I'm still losing inches when I'm not losing weight, so far down 40lbs.

    Stalling Already?

I stalled for 20 days. It's just your body's response to such a huge change, completely normal. Keep up with measurements in the meantime. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stalling Already?

I stalled around 3 weeks post-op for 20 days. I knew it would happen so I kept up with my measurements and during those 20 days and lost nearly 8 inches. When the stall finally let up, I only dropped 2 pounds but it was a loss.

I paid $800 the day of surgery. I did not have a deductible ($600 deductible was waived) and I did not reach my out of pocket max ($3400/individual) for the year. I just got a bill for $900. Surgery was $60,000? Yikes! Considering people go to Mexico and pay $5000 (or less) and get the same results. But I can't complain with it costing less than $2000. 6. Wonderful. No complaints!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. My stall is over, for now. I usually weigh on Fridays, but we are going out of town so I weighed today what a nice surprise!!!! Down about 3lbs, stall lasted 20 days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. So far that hasn't helped my stall. Actually, when I increased my walking to 1.5 miles is when I stalled, it's not because of exercise (obviously), but there is science behind why we stall. It has to do with caloric deficit and glycogen. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Welp, I'm stalled. I know it's normal, I knew I wasn't an exception...but I have been for over 2 weeks AT A STALL. I'm doing everything right (Protein, Water, exercising) and although since my stall started I've lost over 7 inches, the scale hasn't moved. This too shall pass. So far so good. I do an Adkins right after my coffee (15g) then a Premier shake around lunch (30g) and I drink a Protein Water (20) between lunch and supper. Getting all the protein and water in is like a job I'm tracking everything on the MyPlate app. Friday my schedule (provided by my surgeon and NUT) said I could have mashed potatoes, but my body said 'nope'. So I'm sticking to my cream of chicken and canned Soups. I've had homestyle chicken noodle and had a little bit of the noodles and carrots...but they are so soft it's easy to smash them on the roof of my mouth. Any deviation of my schedule makes it hard to stay on track to get my protein and water in, so I'm trying to be vigilant. AND I think I may be going through the dreaded 3 week stall. Since Friday I gained 2.5lbs...but I haven't even eaten that many calories since my surgery so I don't even know how that's possible. I blame the mashed potatoes, I swear that's what I imagine a cleanse to be like. Who knows, maybe I'm retaining Fluid ('cause I DID suck on some sunflower seeds - my salt cravings are crazy. I sort of feel wasteful not eating the seeds, but I'm terrified after the mashed potato debacle). Nonetheless I'm gonna keep trucking. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Every day will get better, promise! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I am day 5 post op..only one incision is giving me the blues..makes it hard for me f9r me to stand, sit, or move in genreal...its frustrating... But I'm taking it day by day Sent from my SM-N930T using the BariatricPal App I was the same way. Moving at night REALLY made me aware of it. I wouldn't cough or sneeze, and I suffer from allergies pretty bad. Even when I wanted to laugh I would have to take it easy and breath through it. Now I'm 16 days out and I barely notice it. I thought the one closest to the band of my bra would give me more issues, but nope...it's the one I assume he pulled my stomach out of, almost in the center of my stomach. You are doing great! Are you able to get all of your Protein and Water in? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. Thanks for reminding me. I need to pick up a pack before Friday. It didn't help me day 2, but I'm about to try it again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I found I had to take them much more often than the recommended dose. My surgeon didn't have a problem with it, but I'd definitely check with yours so they're aware. I'm going home today, thankfully. I feel much, much better compared to yesterday. I wasn't sure yesterday would ever end, but it did. Just kept reminding myself that time takes time. How are you feeling today? Sent From BariatricPal App I'm 6 days post-op and you're definitely a happier camper than me. My doctor's office doesn't mind about gas-x. I bought two boxes but since they didn't help at the beginning I sort of wrote them off. Do you take them regardless or when you're uncomfortable? BTW, I hate mint, so it's a big deal to put one on my tongue So glad you are going home today! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I was taking 2-4 at a time regardless, but now that I'm having a little less gas build up, I've been taking just one every few hours. If I start to feel more build up, I'll take one or two every couple of hours until it subsides. I hope you start to feel better really soon! Sent From BariatricPal App Ohhhh! I'm about to take 'some' now! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. I had surgery on Friday as out-patient. I started my Protein today...two ounces in (over the course of 10-15 mins) and I've been stuffed for hours. Literally like 4 hours. Miserable. Tomorrow is a new day, and I'll take it slower. Do things take longer to digest? I haven't heard that but I see how that's possible. Congrats on your transition. Sounds like you are doing amazing!!! I was supposed to get a call letting me know my part, but no one called. The number they gave me was never answered. I'm glad it worked out though Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. Today is the day. I'm starving. I haven't 'eaten' since Wednesday evening. I feel bad for all the pre-op liquid diets out there. I'm not supposed to drink Water except to take my meds, my surgery isn't until 3:30. You can better bet I'm taking each pill separately, hehe. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Thats what we do, right? Feel a little sad/mad and we eat. Is there any sort of veggie Soup you like that you can strain? Or search Pinterest for some ideas? So I'll try to prepare myself for wanting to taste salt. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. I'm food prepping today (Wed). Tomorrow is all clear liquid diet (day before surgery). I made four Soups (with Protein powder) and divided them in 2 oz. cups and labeled the lids. They are in the freezer for the different stages of the post-op diet. I have a few more I'll make tomorrow to keep me busy throughout the day. I'm glad I opened the chicken broth and tasted it, because it was yuck - it's not my thing. I cook with it a lot but have never tried it on its own. I also made some sugar free Jello. I have three days of meals planned for everyone else. I put my meds and stuff in a daily pill container. I'm hoping all this simplifies things for my husband. Since my surgery isn't until 3:30 I plan to spend Friday morning washing sheets and cleaning. I guess it would hurt to bath the dog and make sure the chickens are topped off Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
