  1. I would eat early and wait 8 hours before lying down. Then I'd use 2-3 pillows but still had acid reflux. I had all the liquid taken out last Wednesday and It's been wonderful. I now can eat fruits, salads, and I have no acid reflux at night. I know that now I have to be very viligant and watch my calories but at least I can eat healthy and maybe I won't have the sweet cravings.
  2. Today I had my doctor apt and he took all the fluid out of my band. He said that I didn't really have much in there so it's possible that I may have other problems. So far I had a great day.....I ate some normal foods without pain or getting stuck. Tonight when I lay down will be the true test for the reflux problem. Keeping my fingers crossed. :-)
  3. Jessiecms,,,,am I understanding you right? You have all your fluid taken out and you still have restriction and acid reflux? I was counting on all my problems being gone when I take all the liquid out. I thought my stomach would be back to normal. Do you think that the band ruins the esophagus and stomach area for having it in place for many years? I have my doctor apt in a couple of hours and I hope I can talk him into taking it all out. Knowing him he will most likely want to take only a small amount out. Hey, it's my body and I just want to be healthy and happy. Don't we all?
  4. Hi Dizzy Lizzy, I am having my liquid taken out tomorrow. I'm tired of not being able to eat fruits and vegies, having acid reflux, etc. I was just wondering how you knew that your pouch was stretched out. What are the symptoms? I hope that I still have some restriction like you experience when it's all out. I am really afraid of gaining weight back even though I say that I know that I can do it now since I've been eating small meals for 6 years now. Thanks for your sharing.

  6. I've had the band for 6 years. Lost 70 lbs but still need 20 to reach goal weight. How did I loose it? By eating very small meals but I still eat a desert daily. So I still am addicted to sugar. Anyway, I am so tired of not being able to eat salads, most vegies, and most fruits, and tire of not sleeping due to acid reflux that I am having all the liquid taken out tomorrow. I know will try to talk me into just taking a little out but I feel that I want it all out. I just want to be able to eat healthy again. But I hear some of you saying that you had all the liquid taken out and you still have restriction?? That scares me. I guess I'll find out if I'm one of those people soon enough. I know that the food and liquid goes through my esophagus very slowly because I can eat and then lay down 8 hrs latter,,,and I still have acid reflux. I would apreciate any responses to my situation...thank you all for sharing.
  7. I've kep 70 lbs off for about 5 years now which I am very grateful and could have not done this without the lapband. The problem is .... I have always had trouble eating fruits and vegetables and the deserts/sweets have always not been a problem to keep down. I've kept the weight off by eating small meals but I always have a desert (or 2 or 3) daily also. I realize that this is not healthy, but I do eat my protein daily. Over the years I've had a big problem with acid reflux. Even if I don't eat for serveral hours before retiring to bed, I still wake up coughing and then refluxing lliquid. I've had fills taken out and filled again many times over the years. I decided that enough is enough and this Wednesday I am having most of my fill taken out. This isn't really a reversal, I'm just taking most of the fill out and it can be put back in if I decide later. I am tried of not sleeping/having acid reflux and I want to eat salads, vegies, and fruit again. I just want to feel healthy. Has anyone else made this decision and experienced some of these things as I have?.. I would appreciate any feedback from those that have had the lapband for more than a few years and feel the same way that I do. Thanks
