  1. Congratulations on the next step in your journey.
  2. For those looking for payment plans, check to see if the hospital or practice participates in Clear Balance. Clear Balance pays off your bill and divides what you owe into manageable interest free payments.
  3. It's the insurance provider who set the prices and the individual who chose the plans. That being said, my OOP will be about $2000. Which I gladly pay for a healthier me.
  4. Stop calling, stop texting - he will get the message.
  5. August 9th, all my pre-op appointments are scheduled
  6. Most practices have seminars or support group meetings you can attend. If not set up a consult with your surgeon. You may get answers to a lot of your questions there.
  7. You have to do what is best for you. Good luck on your journey
  8. Scheduled for August 9th. Now I need to take my pre-op class (no idea what this is) and have my pre-op visit.
  9. August 9th.... the next step in my journery
  10. I followed the process as intructed by the patient coordinator in my bariatric group as well and initially was denied by my insurance provider. Come to find out all of my paperwork was not submitted to my insurance. After resubmission I was approved. Now just waiting on a surgery date. My advice is stay on the doctors office. I know they do this all the time, but things go wrong and sometimes things slip through the cracks. Make sure all of the i's are dotted and t's crossed.
  11. Thanks for the support according to the coordinator in my docs office Cigna required 90 days of medically supervised nutritional counseling. I had 5 visits over 4 consecutive months. According to Cigna medical review, I did not meet the medically supervised diet requirements. I feel like I'm getting the run around, while I like my doctor, his office staff sucks, and you can never get them on the phone, they only communicate via email. Scheduling an appointment
  12. I just found out today, waiting for my ever so slow doctor's office staff to call me back
  13. I jumped through hoops, getting tests and documentation, met with a dietitian 6 times over 4 months, called Cigna only to find they notified my doctor's office last week I had been denied. Now waiting on them [emoji19]
  14. No date yet, but when I get my date, I will be having WLS at 57. It's never to late to change.
  15. I choose the sleeve for several reasons; less chance of complications, shorter surgery time, no moving of the intestine; less chance of malabsorption issues. I have a previous hysterectomy with a vertical abdominal scar. My surgeon also stated that scar tissue from my previous surgey may be problematic for bypass, he thought the sleeve may be my best option for those reason, though he left it up to me, I decided on the sleeve..
  16. Thanks for all the comments and support. I'm going forward as planned.
  17. Has anyone had second thoughts about surgery after experiencing successful weight loss during the nutritional counseling phase. Two and a half months of following my nutritionist recommendations for diet and exercise I am down 18 lbs. Even though I know I have lost only to gain it back, I am having thoughts that I can do this without surgery
  18. my last appointment is June 6th. My nutritionist released me two appointments ago, but my coordinator says I need another nutrition appointment for insurance. Hopefully my surgery will be in July
  19. Are you using a Protein powder or shake, large amounts of protein can cause constipation.
