  9. On 2nd day and am doing ok! Was a little difficult yesterday but a lot better today! Only problem I had was the constant running to the bathroom to tinkle most of the night. When I got up I weighed myself and had actually lost 3.5lbs (I know it's water weight but I'll take)! Can't wait for the next 13 days to end!
  10. I am a 57 year old female and I will be getting the Gastric Sleeve surgery on 3/28/16! I began my journey last year after getting chest pains and where my BP was becoming uncontrollable. While at my Cardiologists office I asked her if it would be beneficial to consider Gastric Bypass surgery and she said yes. I brought up the possibility to my main Doctor years ago but he insisted I do it the old way by diet and exercise. I tried my best exercising, eating healthy and lost a whooping 15 lbs and there I stayed until I got sick and then gained it all back. Finally my doctor agreed and then I had to work on my husband who had reservations about have surgery but he now has become very supportive. Just finished my first day of my 14 day liquid diet. It wasn't too bad but it's hard to drink shakes all day and try to get in at least 1200 calories. I could only get down 4 shakes 800 calories. I brought the GNC Total Lean 25 Protein Meal Replacement shakes with 8g of Fiber. They full me up so much I am unable to do more. Going to trying and work out on my Stride Rider tomorrow if I have the energy. Worn out today. Thought I would show some change in weight but the scale still shows no lost of weight. Many have said they lost weight while on the liquid diet prior to surgery. I have my fingers crossed I will too. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  16. Today I started my 14 day pre op liquid diet preparing for Gastric Sleeve surgery on March 28, 2016. I am doing ok but am already missing my favorite foods and am anxious as hell to get this process over. I must admit I told only my closest family members! The rest of the world is on a need to know basis. The reason I say that is because some people are so judgmental and this is something I am doing for myself and NOT for anyone else. In the beginning I mentioned I was interested in the concept of getting the surgery and got mixed reviews though many especially family have been positive and encouraging. If I encounter someone who shows an interest and has questions and concerns I will be there for them all of the way because you really need positive people around you who respect what you are doing to become healthier and happier with your health and your image! I will not go on FB and let them know but I am sure many will figure it out on there own. LOL! I am not huge but am at least 70 lbs heavier than I want to be and am grateful for the opportunity and the help to reach my goal. I have had abdominal surgery in the past so I am fully aware of what I will be experiencing after surgery and have taken steps to prepare by purchasing a heating pad (helps with pain), an abdominal brace (helps by supporting stomach muscles cause coughing, sneezing and laughing is no joke) and gas x strips (because the gas pain will kill ya)!
