  2. I had my gastric sleeve done January 11th. I weighed 333.1lbs. I'm 10 months post op now and weigh 144.2lbs. I've set new goal weights as I've gone along...first was just to get under 200lbs, then I thought I wanted my goal weight to be 180lbs. When I got there, I made the crazy goal of 150lbs never thinking I'd make it....but I did. So then I figured my goal would be 145lbs which puts me at a normal bmi...which I haven't been since I was around 10. Now that I weight 144lbs, I've decided my final goal will 133lbs, which will mean I will have lost a total of 200lbs....and I'll do it, I know I can. I never thought when I had surgery that weighing in the 130's would even be possible. I've gone from wearing sizes 5-6x, and 28-30, now I wear smalls and mediums and am a size 8....I would be around a 6 if it wasn't for the large amount of skin I have around my stomach and thighs....but it's a price I'm more than happy to pay. I've been extremely disciplined this whole 10 months. I can honestly say I've never put a bad food in my mouth...not once. I follow a very low carb diet still, drink about 85oz of Water every day and get in around 80oz of Protein. I take all my required Vitamins daily. The gym has become a big part of my life. I workout around 5-6 days per week doing a variety of exercising....spin class, step class, yoga, cardio machines....I like doing different things so I don't get bored. Anyway, because I'm so close to goal, I just wanted to share this. And for the people who have a lot of weight to lose like I did....remember, you can do this! I'm living proof!! 3. Thanks for doing this. I hope this challenge will see me to my goal of 200lbs lost. Current weight: 144.2 Goal weight: 133.0 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I know exactly how you feel. I'm 5'5", start weight was 333lbs. I had surgery almost 10 months ago, have lost almost 190lbs. My initial goal was also just to get under 200lbs. Once I got there, I figured "I can do more", so I set it to 180. Once I got to 180, I thought I'd make a crazy goal and go for a normal bmi which was 149lbs. Well, I made it there too! Believe me...this is crazy to me. I haven't weighed this since I was probably 10 years old, and I never thought it was even possible. This morning I weighed in at 145lbs. So my new final goal is going to 133lbs, which would put me at an even 200lb loss. Never in a million years did I ever think I'd weigh in the 130's....but I'm going to do it! And yes, I'm constantly getting the "you're too skinny" crap from people. But I agree with @ "Babbs"...people don't know what healthy looks like anymore. And I went from being so big to now a pretty small person, and I think everyone is having a difficult time with that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. @@bayougirlmrsc Yes, the "you're too thin" thing bugs me too. I've got 15lbs to go before I hit my goal, and when people ask me how much I have left to lose and I tell them, I get the eye roll and the "you're still going to lose MORE weight?" Sometimes I wonder if people are intimidated that I now weigh less than them. I started out at 333lbs and now weigh 160lbs, and I have people telling me all time "you're skinnier than me now", and "if you lose 10 more pounds you'll weigh less than me".
  15. @@finding_onederland Lol...I had the exact same experience. After I had lost about 60lbs, I started to feel 'lumps' on my chest. I thought to myself "oh great, now that I'm finally losing weight and getting my life in order, I've got cancer"....turns out it was my sternum! God I'm an idiot!

  18. And speaking of boney butts and uncomfortable places to sit, my son is in the middle of hockey try outs right now and I just realized I have 7 months of hard benches to sit on in front of me. May have to invest in a cushion.
  19. First off, I'm not calling myself skinny...yet...but I've noticed a couple of things with my body that I'm surprised about that I wasn't expecting since I've lost so much weight. First off...how the hell do you shave your armpits when they've turned into a cave?? I swear, my armpits are so sucked in now, it takes me 15 minutes to try to shave them....as off tonight, they're pretty hairy because I gave up. Also, it's uncomfortable to sleep on my side because my now boney knees hurt when they're rubbing against each other....I've tried putting pillows and blankets between them but I can't sleep with that stuff between my legs...sigh. And don't get me started about my boney butt on hard chairs and toilet seats!! I am constantly cold and am not looking forward to the upcoming Canadian winter. My husband is already agitated with all the layers I wear to bed as it is. But even with all these new "problems", I still wouldn't change any of it for the world!! So what are your "skinny people problems" you weren't expecting??
  20. @@able2cope For sure devilled eggs are ok! Yes, I too have a hard time with meat that is dry...I've always been one to over cook meat...so I've been trying hard to cook it properly so it doesn't dry out too much. Have fun on your trip!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. @@able2cope I eat very boring...I'm just not hungry and food doesn't really appeal to me anymore. I found my tastes in most things have changed and not much really tastes good anymore. So I usually eat chicken, fish, pork and eggs. I still have a Protein shake every morning for Breakfast. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I am just over 8 months post op, down almost 170lbs. I've been eating pretty much only Protein, and very little veggies the whole time. I have about 18lbs to lose until I'm at my goal. Once I'm there, I plan on adding different things like some fruit and yogurt. But until I'm at goal, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing...it's worked for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
