  1. My sleeve was done Wednesday, July 20th. I have what I thought is hunger pains, it is fierce then goes away. I'm so hungry! Seriously I can sip liquids, and Popsicles. But I want to and my stomach wants me to eat something. Is this normal? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Amazing and I am a little jealous! Mine was done wed, so I am now 5 days post op and still sore. I had low bmi so I didn't have to do the preop diet but for a few days. Now my stomach feels like it is starving! I cant have any Protein shakes or anything but I see dr tomorrow so he will tell me if I can move on yet. I literally feel like I am just starving myself because I still cant get in the fluids. I was in hospital for 3 days because day 1 and 2 I was so doped up on morphine and couldn't stop vomiting and man that hurts!! I am not diabetic so almost everything is sugar free or Water with no worries. I did add a creamsicle in and almost ate the whole thing, and it took a while for my stomach to settle but atleast that hunger or what ever pain was gone finally!

  8. Hi, I am 5'7 and 229 lbs. I have went through all the appointments and diet class and have sleep apnea. So waiting for the Written insurance approval but I am scared. I am worried about the preop diet and the post op diet as well. I have a 14 yr old and a 4 year old and I am worried making them dinner or husband lunches I won't be able to handle not EATTING. I am worried to be one that is so sick after and vomits. I had spinal fusion last December and still trying to recover and all back but this may be right around the corner. I am worried about losing weight and looking older, losing my hair, and just some of the stories scare me. Am I just trying to find a way out because also my mother well, is not supportive at all and say I'm not that big to need that... Am I just looking to this the wrong way? I have done many diets and so fat and hard to be active because of my spine but I'm walking more now. Maybe I am just scared about this all and added stressors too? I was thrilled to find out I had apnea so I would qualify. Now, insurance is re reviewing because of the apnea test results so I've been like thinking this is a sign for me to stop? Idk! Any advice?? I'm going in!

melvin5ft2 I understand why your going through. The weirdest thing is that my mind is telling me to eat something but my stomach is nauseated and trying to force fluids doesn't help it. But I feel serious hunger pains as well! I had hoped that wasn't going to be an issue but here I am. Wish I could have a saltine cracker to help this nausea. I'm going in!

Hi everyone and thank you so very much for al the well wishes! My surgery was around noon last Wednesday, so today is Friday and 2 days post op. It has been a crazy ride and not an easy one by any means. For pain I had morphia which helps but also let me asleep so I did nothing on Thursday. The small amount of throwing up was hard because of hurting so bad. I was changed to reglan and tordal so last night and today I have walked, showered, and got in a Popsicle. But the nausea is still there just mild. I'm still feeling too bad to determine if surgery was right for me. My bmi was t high enough but I have spinal issues that prevent me from doing many things and that is what helped. Few more days to get through this mess of symptoms and feelings and then I hope to say it was worth it. Right now, I can't say that. Looking at others storied to find some helpful hints Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Insurance approval in 24hours!

Wow that's great. My insurance denied me so guess I'm out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I appreciate everyone's post! I unfortunately found out today my insurance denied my surgery because of newly diagnosed with sleep apnea and not big enough bmi. What my insurance didn't know is I had spinal fractures and spinal degeneration so I can't exercise at all right now from having fusion done in December. I called dr and told them all that they can do is a peer to peer review but they close early today so I left a message and hopefully Monday am the dr will do it?! Idk.. Just saddens me now cause I have prepared myself mentally to do this AND the office was gonna schedule me for March 2 ... Now it will be too late. I guess if it's meant to be it will work out. But sux because hubby has to go back to work as he's been off helping with kids as I'm JUST starting to drive from spinal surgery.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Good luck! My insurance denied after everything and with apnea diagnosis. So I hope yours doesn't make you go through all the stuff for nothing. My last option is my dr do a peer to peer review. I had spinal fusion in December and still not moving much so this would help me more for my spine recovery as well... Guess it's just not in the cards for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. That is awesome to know! Thank you. Your right where will I be in 5 years without it=right where I am now... Thanks! I needed that wake up call! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I am so worried about actually getting insurance approval. I am 229 lbs and have been on the fist diet plan of low carbs and after hearing what has to be done for the pre op diet and no EATTING for weeks after just worries me.... Idk .. I am also worried I will opt out after reading so many not so good stories like vomiting a lot and stuff... I had spinal fusion done in December, if I threw up that would hurt me so bad! By chance is anyone else nervous about what to do? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
