My surgery date is August 9th and I am so excited I can hardly wait. I chose to have the sleeve done after lots of research and talking with my doctor. I am looking for advice. Should I join a gym? There are several in my area to pick from and I want to make sure I am exercising regularly but should I just stick with the elliptical in my garage? That thing has sat in my garage collecting dust for a long time. I have been walking around the neighborhood each night and am already feeling better but I am worried I may need some more intense exercise. Anyhow, I will stop rambling and wait to read some advice. Being successful on this journey is imperative so please let me know what worked best for you and why. Thanks!

August 9th here! I am so excited!!!

Howdy, I am a type 1 for 25 years. On a pump and a CGM. My bg's are all over the place and I am hoping the surgery will help. I have a date of August 9th. So glad to find other type 1's here.

I just received a date for my VSG surgery. It's August 9th. This is the first post I have put out there and I am excited to finally share the news. Over the past few months I have been lurking on these forums as well as other sites. Doctors visits and getting clearance from specialists have created many stress filled days but all is good. My issues include type 1 diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol as well as other stuff I cannot think of right now. Reading all of the posts on this site has really allowed me to sit back and think about how I really feel about all of this. I am glad I did not just jump right in like I have a tendency to. I took my time and it has been good for my brain. My doctor and I decided that it would be more dangerous for NOT to have the surgery at this point. I am excited and hope to connect with people on here for support. And hopefully I will able to provide some support to others also. -George
