  3. Hi all! Haven't been on here in awhile and I having some issues. Can someone exlpain the difference between an upper GI and a EGD? What type of doctor would I go to for these? I am 4 years post op and my surgery was in Mexico so I want to go in and insure all is still okay. When I request these procedures do I tell them I was banded in Mexico? Also, is a scope, fluroscope and barium swallow the same thing? Thank you for any insite you may have.
  4. Hi all, I've been banded for two and a half years. I just got a fill on Wed and haven't had one in a year. I know I am tight, I am taking small sips and have been on liquids but it is staying down and not coming up. However, I am uncomfortable and getting upper back pain after I take sipps (water, coffee, shake). Does this happen to anyone else? Do you know why? Since I havent had a fill in awhile I thought maybe I forgot but I dont remember these uncomfortable feelings before. Thanks in advance!
  5. Centrum also has a liquid, that's what I took. Good luck
  6. I've had my band for 2.5 years, recently having some reflux issues at night and more gurrgling than normal. From what I've read I may need an unfill but I have a few questions. I was banded in MX and would like to get some sort of check up but dont feel comfortable traveling there in these times. Will a regular dr see me? Does anyone know of one in Las Vegas? What would I get, an upper GI? Also, I don't think I get enough fluids. Would that cause any tightening or swelling of the band? Thanks in advance for your input.
  7. Thank you! Looks like I am on the right track, I have been eating beans, cottage cheese and string cheese. Not to mention that I love split pea soup, I found one made by Healthy Choice and it it yummy!
  8. I had my third fill a week ago and it was only .2 cc's. I was on liquids for 24 hours and was able to start eating. Every thing was fine for a few days. Also started my TOM a few days ago, so I think that is factoring in. Starting yesterday I have not been able to eat, BK-two bites of cottage cheese-done, Lunch-two bites of turkey meat got stuck, hiccuped a little, waited for that to clear. A couple bites of soup-stuck, hiccuped a little, waited for that to clear. Tried cottage cheese again-stuck, waited for that to clear. I know I should have stopped but I was so obssessed with trying to get in some protein. Anyhow I think I have really irritated my stoma. Realizing I spent so much time trying to eat I didn't get any liquids in so I started drinking water for the rest of the night (not much tho because I had a headache and fell asleep). So far today I've gotten down about 16 oz water and a half of a sugar free popscicle, which made me hiccup a little. I really don't think that .2 cc's made me too tight. Has anything like this happended to anyone else?
  9. Thank you for your responses, I will definately try them!
  10. This is a great thread! I'm new to the forum but have been reading for the past few months. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz 9/18/07. I just had my third fill at 2.5cc in a 4cc band on tuesday. I think I need more solid proteins, does anyone have any suggestions besides chicken (which is hard for me to eat) and fish?
