  1. It will pass! My gas pain lasted for about a week post-op. I'm 4 weeks out and I still get gassy from certain foods. Definitely continue to use a heating pad, lots of walking, and gas-x strips!

    Going back to work

I was sleeved on 2/26 and returned to work on 3/14. I'm an elementary teacher so I have a pretty active job. I took off work for two weeks which worked out great. I was a little fatigued and sore at first when I returned, but now I feel great! Your body re-adjusts in a short amount of time. Listen to your body like the others said.
  3. Hi all...I was sleeved on 2/26 and I'm experiencing difficulty with getting in my water and protein I feel fatigued all the time due to dehydration. I'm a teacher so I'm having trouble remembering to sip all day. What is a helpful schedule to go by to get all my fluids in? I have got to get some energy fast! I'm supposed to drink at least 64 oz of water and 80 g of protein daily. I'm barely getting in 1/3 of that requirement...

    Why did I do this?

I'm 3 weeks post-op and I usually begin to burp constantly and sort of feel my food trying to come up. That's how I know I'm full or probably ate too fast.

    Protein, protein, protein!

Tonight I just bought some syntrax nectar sample packs from Vitamin Shoppe and I love them! So far I've tried the fuzzy navel flavor. Premier and muscle milk didn't sit too well in my stomach Glad I saw this forum!
  6. I can tolerate isopure much better than premier or muscle milk protein shakes. I think I'm lactose intolerant because my stomach becomes bloated and gassy after drinking those ugh. I normally add crystal light to my isopure to make it taste better.

Is this going to get easier?

It will get better! Your stomach is still swollen. I'm 12 days post-op and I can sip normally now as long as I don't take huge sips. My discomfort while drinking ended when I was a week post-op. Hang in there.

    My Texas Sleevers

    Dallas, tx...sleeved on Friday 2/26
  9. How is everyone doing? I just had my sleeve done this past Friday and honestly I wasn't expecting the recovery to be this difficult! My leak test was great but it hurts when I try to eat or drink liquids. It's like my stomach is having spasms. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm guessing it's due to swelling of the stomach after surgery? I got so dehydrated yesterday that I couldn't even urinate anymore. Back to the hospital I went for IV fluids , but today I'm back on track with my fluids now. Pedialyte is helping me a lot in the early stages. Taking it one day at a time [emoji17]
  10. Hey there! I'm scheduled for 2/26 too at 10:00 am. I'm 5'1 and currently 258 lbs. I've lost 10 lbs so far on my 2 week pre-op diet. I can only have clear liquids and protein shakes so it's been miserable honestly. I'm excited though!
  11. I'm scheduled for sleeve surgery on 2/26. How soon can I start taking the required vitamins? My nutritionist said wait two weeks after surgery, but that seems kind of long to wait in my opinion.
  12. Thank you all for your replies!!
