for those who used dr lavin - were you required to do an EKG? at my first appointment they were a little light on that kind of information. i saw another dr in jackson, ms who gave more details on what was expected before surgery. thanks so much!

I was a little too ambitious...met with nurse practitioner and not surgeon. meeting with surgeon on thursday - hope to have a date soon...

I hope to report back tomorrow with a surgery date. I'm self pay and meeting my surgeon tomorrow. I can't wait to join many of you on the losers bench! Hi - I've been trying to work with my insurance company for a month and I found out that I have to go through six months of medically supervised diet, etc. I have to go through hoops and it's not 100% coverage. I decided to go with self pay. To be honest I just can't wait anymore. I am so ready to be a sleever!!!! I'm looking in to Surgical Specialists of Louisiana. I have an appointment on Tuesday. I'm curious to find out about post surgery complication insurance. I've also read a few things on here about insurance picking up some costs if a hernia is found. Should I ask my surgeon if he can look for a hernia? Thanks in advance for any help. I can't tell you how much comfort this site has brought me!

What is everyone's take on cutting out coffee? For How long do you have to stop? I drink a cup every morning and let's just say I'm addicted to my morning bestfriend

Hi everyone - this is my very first post! I'm going to the Dr next week and hope to have a surgery date in the next month! How soon after the sleeve surgery can you travel via plane? I need to go out of the country and wasn't sure how long you think I will need to wait. Thank you so much in advance!
