  1. This one shocked me! I don't know why, but it did! My son is headed today to the NCAA headquarters in Indiana with 19 other students from University of Iowa. ( Did I mention how proud and excited I am for him??? He had to submit an application, write out essays, etc to be chosen from a pool of 1000 who applied!!! And he is a freshman!!!) They are spending the next 4 days there studying, learning, meeting with NCAA management, etc. I'm sending this to him so he can ask about it there. Interested to find out how they monitor the athletes with caffeine consumption. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I really worry about the efficacy of these. There are many medications delivered transdermally, but they are typically regulated prescriptions, so clinical testing and submission to the FDA are required. In the US, Vitamin supplements are NOT FDA regulated- unless they are prescribed and dispensed by a pharmacist. Therefore, who is to know how much uptake occurs? One could postulate that lab results will tell, as mentioned above, but some Vitamins are excreted quickly, others stored in areas (tissues) around our bodies. Who is to say that what is floating around your blood when they do a draw isn't what has been stored from before? Would several months of repeat testing show an increase or decrease of vitamins? This is simply pondering on my part. I would love for them to work- beats remembering pills. But until we know more? I'm avoiding. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. You know, I was thinking about this all week. All three of my kids have been fighting colds. I've been teetering it feels like, for days, but seem to be fighting it off. I'm worried about meds to alleviate any symptoms, should I need them--With a pouch from bypass, how my body will react to them. Sorry you're not feeling well. Maybe some good old chicken Soup or broth with unflavored Protein powder?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Ooohhhh, I get it now. It's like a "junk YARD"... Junk Upgrade 2.0 Ooohhhh, I get it now. It's like a "junk YARD"...One can only hope they keep the hedges trimmed....Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Going clean shorn is usually the first move after said 2.0 package upgrade is established. It gives the illusion of enhanced mass. Of course.....in his case.....most of the foliage was likely singed off anyway as a result of the kanky stuff they are doing with the hot wax and such..............much respect to Team Fat Man. Most men would be nervous about their wife being around Mr Happy with a pair of scissors but not me! By the way, waxing the landscape hurts like heck! I will NEVER do that again... Wax wax and wax some more. Stops hurting much after a while, and eventually the hair just stops growing in. You know, cuz I know that from my eyebrows. And things. 9. I may be off here, but the profile pic I can see - you look quite young! If you are- you are a t a HUGE (no pun intended!) advantage--- Youth! Elasticity! Good Hormone levels Flowing!!! Those things in themselves lend well to your skin recovering! I'm down just over 100 since I started- last December- and have minimal hanging skin. And believe me- if anyone was going to- that would be me???? You need to take this all ONE STEP AT A TIME. Get healthy first- emotionally,, physically and then cosmetically, if needed. Good Luck! 12. Thanks @@SoExcited101 Ok. I'm not huge into taking pics. Had my son take these outside since I couldn't get a full shot in the bathroom. No comments on the bags under my eyes-- I haven't slept well in weeks. I wore this top for one reason only- I haven't worn it since the day I turned 40- over 9 years ago. My husband threw me a surprise party that day and that's what I had on when I walked into the house. Ok. Ok. Ok. Here goes- new Calvin Klein Size 10 Skinny Jeans. On me. Weighing in at 176 today. And my favorite, still- head shots!!! lol Ugh. I did it. @@OKCPirate and @Dub. There you go. I made good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. HA! What fantasy world are you living in!?!?!?! (FTR, my WWs leader wasn't happy about people consuming bananas nor was my LAWL coach.) The one where monkeys fly, Dorothy has Ruby Slippers, and the Yellow Brick Road takes you through a Poppy Field where you get happily high.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  19. I got that all the time with my band, not yet with my sleeve... But when I slimed, first the food would get somewhat stuck in my throat, and then my body would produce tons of clear mucus to try to push it out. It was gross... Is this the way it is for sleevers too? Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App Yep. And some times we are treated to the foamies with it!!! Fun times! 20. Yes!!! Completely normal! Takes a couple of months for it to thin out. And you're feeling nerve regeneration ( the stabbing sharp pain ) But Never hurts to call!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Just saw this-- 44DDD now 36 DD. Which is where I was 10 years ago (pre-obesity) Not flat, just need some good 'ok firming up. Either they get tighter thru exercise, or these babies are getting a lift! Either way, I'm good with it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I have a hard time reconciling myself to inexpensive clothing. Don't get me wrong- I buy inexpensive when I can, but as a young girl, and I can still hear her in my head now- my moms "lesson" was "If you can afford one silk dress or 5 polyester dress, always choose silk". Yeah it was the 70's so I guess we could say "cotton", but her point was not lost- By the best you can afford. Doesn't work so well with WLS patients though, since we change sizes so often! My happiness lies is flirty, swilrly little skirts, some a little form fitting. Either way, I made an investment in a bunch at the beginning of summer, switching out tops here and there to change them up, and they have served me well. Likely get another 2 months out of them before weather forces them away. A few are really cute wrap around silk numbers. So- I "supplement" with inexpensive tops and "splurge" on boutique bottoms. Not spending the money on food, or eating out... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. I'll find you too. I do not share my surgery with the general public, but I DO post healthy food pics there and grab great info from Others. Mine is not "secret", so family and friends can follow me, but I just keep it to healthy eating, fun pics, etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
