Who did you tell?
I have told my immediate family, they all are either over-weight or obese, so they are very supportive and happy for me. Most of them know that it is not going to be an overnight miracle, so I don't feel any pressure. Most others have no idea that I had surgery, I will tell them when I feel comfortable.

3 weeks post op
Hi Monica, Keep in mind that everyone heals differently and always follow your doctor's instructions, with that said, here goes. My doctor is very strict, he had me on optifast for two weeks prior to surgery, then post-surgery clear liquids for two more weeks, I'm finally on full liquids for the next week and a half. He is going to let me start real food on x-mas eve. Thank you, thank you, thank you doctor. My energy is not quite back to normal. I have started walking a mile a day, but I would not break any speed records. My port sight is still sore, but is healing nicely. My appt. for my first fill is on Jan. 5th. If you have any more questions just PM me. Take care

So I do have to do the 2 week pre op Optifast
My doctor requires his patients to be on optifast for two weeks prior to surgery. Five shakes a day , plus SF popsicles,SF jello, broth and of course water. I only have two more days to go, surgery on Tuesday. I have had some hard days, but I have managed to keep to it. I'm hoping this will make it easier after surgery when I have to be on liquids for two weeks. Mushies never sounded so good!!!!!

Soon to be banded!
Hi, Have been visiting this site for a while, gathering all the wonderful info that is available here. Decided to have lap-band back in August and I finally got approval today from my insurance. Surgery is scheduled for Nov. 29th. I'll be on Optifast for two weeks before sugery, so no turkey for me this year. It will be great to have other bandsters to share this fanastic experience with.
