I hate it when people post just to post.....
TG: I particularly liked it when you told her to "step off' and "shove it up her darkside". WAY bitchier than what I said! You rock.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!
 Wow. I feel bad that you have such strong anger towards the LapBand/Allegan and the people here on LBT. I never thought of myself as sucker. I am being banded on April 10th. I am a Registered Nurse who happens to work in OR. I've also worked in ICU and ER before now. I have chosen the Band based on a lot of research and my personal experiences as a nurse to patients who've had RNY and DS. I can tell you truthfully, there are a lot of bad things to come those surgeries. Things go very well in the beginning, but the human body will take drastic measures to sustain life. I am not here to argue with you. I am here to get support, learn and share my experience. It's good to see both sides of the coin, but some people take it too far and become nasty. My doctor does more RNY surgeries than any other type of WLS. He says it's because MOST people are not GOOD CANDIDATES for the LapBand. It requires discipline! You MUST change you lifestyle or it will NOT WORK! The other surgeries allow you to 'cheat' and still lose weight. But there is a price for any of these things we are doing to our bodies. No surgery? Stay Morbidly Obese. Surgery? There are possibilities of (LapBand related) productice burp, erosion, slippage,(RNY and DS related) malnutrition, hairloss, osetoporsis, losing teeth, liver problems, foul smelling odor, dumping syndrome, infertility, and God forbid...gaining the weight back (any of the surgeries)! There are no surgeries as of yet that don't come with some kind of price. You made a decision for YOU and what YOU could handle...leave it at that. No need for nastiness. I'm sure you have some words of wisdom about life with a Band, but just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean you should discourage others in their Quest.

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Yeah, I know. I asked my daughter to do it! DH isn't allowed! LOL I am also going to take my measurements. I'm sure at some point it will come in handy when I need a NSV. I have some pics in my bedroom of my honeymoon (only 6 years ago) and I actually looked at them. They are my before the Before pictures ya know? What's worse is, I thought I was fat then! So sad. Shame on me. Good example of learning to love yourself and live for today.

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Okay, so I know this is OT from all the outstanding conversations we've been posting here today, but... When was the last time you were walking up to a store and saw yourself coming in the reflection? Holy Sh*t!!! Happened today. Not happy. I kept trying to look away, but it was like those va jay jay photos, I just had to look! I am so happy I'm being banded soon. I start my liquid diet on Thursday. Get my Band the Thursday after that! YAY for me!

Good for you J! It was pretty darn nippy here. We had company all weekend too. I had fun, but am glad it's over. There was a ride on Sunday, but no one showed up because it was too cold.

Wow, there's an excellent example of class, tact and eloquence! You keep complaining that the people on here are mean and I think you are exactly that! Why do you keep coming back in here?

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
I kinda remember him...I just googled him, but the only thing that stands out is the military thing. He was last year???? Either way, how annoying. His profile doesn't even mention Michigan. It says Oceanside, CA. Hardly think he got an accent from there either!

Any April's out there?
LOL. I have been looking around my house for the last few weeks to see what I could eat if I get too hungry during the liquid diet! I don't know what the calorie counts are for the couch, tv, laptop, slippers, the cat...

Your going to think I'm crazy!
When you work out regularly, especially with any weight training, you are increasing your muscle mass. That is a wonderful thing. {That is where it doesn't matter what you weigh (muscle weighs more than fat), but the size you wear and how you look and feel will be amazing. So after you've started to build these muscles, they are constantly burning fat, even at rest. Increasing your calories/carbs doesn't change your metabolism immediately. You can get away with a break and still lose a little weight. Obviously if you continued to eat and not work out, you'd gain weight, but initially you will still lose because your metabolism is in high gear.
