  1. Oh, and yes, so many people say that you don't notice anything with the first fill, so I was disappointed too. I wanted to feel something right away. I am sure that I will need another since technically, this is my first fill now. Ugh. ~C
  2. When the doctor drew the syringe back, he should have gotten back the 1 cc fill he gave me almost 2 weeks ago. There was nothing there but an empty syringe! He doesn't know where it went. We are hoping that he just missed the first time. Otherwise, it would mean that I have a leak. That would be bad. Very bad. I don't know my limits. I am afraid to 'try' it out. I don't want to PB, and I certainly don't want to stretch anyting. I am worried about this. I had a shake last night for dinner and one for Breakfast so I didn't eat any real food until lunch. I took it easy, but again, I am scared to find out if it worked or not! ~C
  3. Hello, my name is Turler and I am a poster.
  4. J- thanks...I am sort of leary to try out my band. I really don't know my limits so I am being really careful. I don't want to have a pb. Ever. That being said, I really hope it doesn't happen at work. Seriously, that would be bad! Also, I don't want to stretch anything either. I think my fill might be working though. I felt full pretty quick today at lunch. BG: Glad you're alive! We miss you! Hello everyone else! ~C
  5. Thanks J! I'm glad you understand. Hey...how soon should I feel something with a fill? ~C
  6. L2L, I take it you have a 10 cc band? Mine is the 4 cc. From what I've read, 3 cc is a pretty good start for the 10 cc band. You have done so well so far, so I'm guessing you're gonna do great with a fill! I am walking quite a bit, and a little bike riding. It's been so windy here that biking hasn't been much fun yet. Still a little cold yet too. We get so few nice days here and God sees to it that I'm working on those days!! Just kidding, but it sure seems that way sometimes! I am getting to the point where I'm frustrated enough to be complaining a lot lately. I'm eager to lose the weight, but am tired of being so hungry all the time and able to eat quite a bit. I only have so much willpower left! I'm sure things will get better now. If not, I am to contact him on Friday to get another adjustment. Are you exercising? Still logging your food? How are things at work going? Any better? ~c
  7. Hi guys/gals! No difference here. I just wanted to share my recent adventure in the Lap Band world! I'll get right to the point. I went for my second fill today because I'm STILL hungry and still not losing! Sick of it. Anyway...when he drew back the syringe, there was NOTHING in the band!!!! The whole entire first fill wasn't there! (1 cc worth). Arrgghh! He said of course that explained why I didn't feel any different! So I got 1.25 cc today. He didn't want to give me too much since this is technically my 'first fill' now. I'm frustrated. I am hoping this will make a difference. If not, I'm going to ask that we look at the band under flouro. Just in case something is wrong with the band or the tubing. I'm worried, but remaining hopeful. Maybe next time I post in here it will be because I've lost some weight!!!! ~C
  8. Hi everyone! Okay, so you know how I've been doing all this complaining about still being hungry? And still not really losing any more weight? Well, I just got back from my second fill this evening and low and behold! There wasn't ANY saline in the band!! NONE! So my whole first fill was a bust! The 1 cc I was supposed to have in there, never made it into the band!!!! Geez...I was starting to think I was crazy! I swear I'm really hungry, guess it was for real. Anyway, he found the port, which was a lot different spot than last time. He even left the needle in and tugged on it to be sure it was in the right spot. He gave me 1.25 cc this time. He would've given me .5 cc today, but since I didn't have ANY restriction he was worried it'd be too much for the "first time". Ugh. I really hope there isn't a leak in the band or the tubing. I am concerned now. If it was just a mistake on his part last time, than no big deal, but now I'm worried. So J...I don't think I can afford the $200 in gas it's going to cost me to get to Lansing in my Durango. That Hemi is a gas guzzler and it's currently $4.09/gallon here in Marathon Oil (Findlay is there corporate HQ) territory. Not to mention any hotel and food cost. I'm really sorry. I want to go so bad, but I just can't justify that kind of money. Please don't hate me!!!! I really hadn't put too much thought into Dallas just yet. I would love to go. It sure sounds like fun! I should look into it. Do you know the projected cost for that? ~C
  9. So I went for my second fill today. The first fill was a week and a half ago. I never felt any restriction, was still always hungry etc. Anyway, I went back today and when he drew the syringe back there was NOTHING there! So needless to say, thr first fill didn't work because there wasn't any saline in the band at all! Geez! No wonder! So he found the port, and gave me 1.25 cc today. Hopefully this time it will work. He left the needle in and tugged on it to be sure he was in the right spot before he injected. I sure hope I get some relief from the 'hungries'!! So there ya go kids. I've read about this happening, but since I haven't felt any different from the beginning, I didn't know what to expect! ~C
  10. Well, they tend to be a little salty.
  11. May God give you comfort and allow you to find peace in this difficult time for you and your family. I'm so sorry for your loss. ~Carol
  12. Yes...and no! LOL Some people like theirs to be creamier, some stickier, etc. It's individual, but you don't add much. I like mine stickier, so I don't add much water. It really is good, and makes for a good snack. I'm sure if you didn't like it, you could sell it pretty easily. ~C
  13. Here is the link to the powdered peanut butter. The stuff is awesome. They just pulverize the peanuts and squeeze all the oil out of it...makes it less fattening. It's low cal, and it honestly tastes good! I like it with a little tiny sprinkle (not the whole packet) of Splenda. You can add a little chocolate syrup too if you are really craving a little sweet!!!! Yummy! Bell Plantation - PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter - Home ~C
  14. I like the powdered peanut butter too! It's so good! I gave some to my dietician because she'd never heard of it. She loved it! I always forget I have it though. I haven't tried it in my shakes. Good idea. I don't get my threads in an email. Too many. I prefer to just go to User CP. ~C
  15. Oh ZZ...I'm so sorry. I know patient's die, but when they are 'yours', it seems different. I admire you for taking on the difficult task of oncology nursing. You are my hero. I know how it is to love your kitty so much like that too. He'll be okay. Hang in there! ~C
  16. Love, Congratulations on your new Band! Sorry you didn't get what you wanted, but I'm glad you got banded! ~C
  17. Hi ZZ! I've had the worst week. I am on call again tonight. Ugh. So tired. I sure hope I don't get called in. 7 am can't come soon enough for me. I can't sleep when I'm on call (too wound up). Okay, enough complaining. Tell me about your day... ~C
  18. Thank you Alex!
  19. anyone out there?
  20. More places are serving sweet tea now. I don't like it though. A friend of mine is from Georgia and she makes it homemade. She puts like a pound of sugar in each pitcher!! Yuck! I'll take it with Splenda, thank you very much! ~C
  21. I know what you mean! I'm stuck. I want that scale to be moving at least a little every day. I am not doing much at all. My fill hasn't given me any restriction, nor helped with my hunger. I know it sounds like I'm complaining. I'm really not. I am very happy to have lost what I have so far. I am just eager to experience the Band as we've all come to expect! ~C
  22. Oh Leslie!!!!!! I'm so sorry! Although, I'm thinking your "rolling over" in bed was more like "rolling around in bed" *wink* *wink* LOL Okay, in all seriousness. Flipping a port, especially one placed in your chest is difficult to do. I'm wondering if a stitch broke or something. Strange though. Also, I too no longer log/journal my food. I was so good about that in the beginning. I'm not exercising like I should. I walk, but I should be doing more. I do not feel restriction either since my first fill. I'm disappointed, but I know that my doctor will give me another. I was supposed to call him this afternoon to pop over and get a fill, but work was too busy and I couldn't. I might not be able to get one now until next week. Hang in there Leslie! I'm here for ya chica! ~C
  23. I still don't like the Rep thing either. Please get rid of it. I'd rather see people's band date there instead! Or weight statistics (before and after)...you know...somthing inspiring!!!! ~C
  24. Great job everyone! I'm so proud to be an April Avenger! ~C
  25. Wow...took me a minute to read through all D's posts! LOL Hi there D! I'm a new addition around here over the winter. It's nice to meet you! Hi everyone! HP- I sold two bikes on Ebay and got almost what I paid for them!! And that was two years later! You might do very well that way. You could see if your local LBS would be willing to package your bike for you (to ship it to the winner) or give you an empty box that they would throw away. ~C
