  1. My dr is telling me 4 weeks. I do a bit of lifting (computer equipment). My boss wasn't happy!
  2. Doc says I'll be on Clear liquids for 2 weeks after surgery. "Anything you can read a newspaper thru," So besides chicken broth, what other things are there???
  3. So I had to get to a certain weight before my ins co would approve my banding. Well, at weigh-in yesterday at the Dr. I made it!!! They are calling the ins co today or tomorrow to finalize the approval. I have to have a GI Scope first(Feb 15), so I'll be out of work for a day for that, then I'm ok for banding. I hope to have that date in a week!! I'm getting fustrated on how long this has taken (been about 14 months since I started this). Dr hs requested that I continue to lose a pound a week (ugh!), and has said I will be out of work for 4 weeks (because I do a bit of lifting -computers). The Boss wasn't happy about that!! Oh well! Thanks for listening!! --Heather.
  4. Rochester Here!--Heather
  5. Donna, I'm in Rochester NY. I'm seeing Dr DiBenedetto, he's from Liverpool!
  6. Hi!! I'm in Rochester and am seeing Dr. Anthony DiBenedetto at Rochester General. Welcome to the board!
  7. I started this at 240. The ins co wants me at 224.6 to approve the surgery. I'm at 226.5. BCBS is what I have. I have no clue why they would require you to lose to have the surgery!!
  8. Hi everyone!! I've been working with my surgeon for over a yr now to get approved for the lapband. I'm almost there!! I have to lose a few more pounds before the insurance will approve me. (strange.... I need the band surgery to lose weight, but the ins co requires me to lose weight before??? catch 22 eh?) well, I only have 2 pounds to go before I'm at their goal. I weigh in next wednesday. I'm glad to have found this site! Lots of good information. My mom (who I live with) is making me nuts sometimes about this. She's a food addict and is worried I won't be able to eat enough after the surgery (isn't that kinda the point??) Oye!! About me: I'm 38, still live at home (my dad died a yr ago due to surgery complications). I have 2 dogs (one w/cancer) 4 cats and a few other critters. I work full time at a university fixing computers. I like to scuba dive and work on my outdoor pond and garden stuff. Anyone in the area, I'd love to hear your experiences/plans!! --Heather.
