  1. I was banded on January 31st by Dr. Bagnato in Albany and drive 2 hours each way for my fill appointments. Anyone else out there in the Macon or middle GA area? It would be nice to chat with local bandsters! :biggrin2:

    Newbie from Middle GA

Hi! I'm also in middle GA and was banded earlier this year, Jan 30th by Dr. Bagnato in Albany. What Dr are you using? I wish you the best with your band and hope to hear back from you soon. Kathy

Hit the wall 24 hours post-surgery

I was banded back in January and felt great for the first 2 or 3 days after surgery. Looking back I think I tried so hard to feel ok and let my husband, kids and parents know I was ok after the surgery. After these first few days I realized I had to stop pushing myself so hard and just rest. My body needed to recover and honestly it took at least 2 weeks before I really felt 100% again. My surgery was on a Wednesday and I went back to work on Monday but could only make it until noon before crashing. So I ended up only working 1/2 days for a week. Luckily my boss was very supportive and allowed the extra time off. The first 2 weeks were the hardest for me but now 4 1/2 months since surgery I know it was totally worth it! I've lost 25 lbs and see the scale moving down every week. Good luck and get some rest!

    Fat Clothes

I've spent hours shopping for a swim suit! Both in stores and online. I need a suit that gives the girls the support they need so I'm not sagging down to my belly button! I finally found a good selection of mix and match separates on Landsend.com. The tankini tops have underwires instead of the padded cups....like I need anymore padding  I paired a tankini top with swim shorts and can't wait for my shipment to be delivered. I've lost around 25lbs. since my surgery on Jan 31st and feel so much better so I can't wait to get out by the pool or on the lake and soak up some sun. :cool2:Good luck!

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Hi Bandits. I'm back at work today (surgery was Wed, 1/30) and finally starting to feel better. I saw Dr. B yesterday and he emptied my band and the spasms I was having in my esophagus stopped. These spasms were so painful and drinking triggered them even more so I got a little dehydrated and was getting weaker everyday. Now that I'm no longer having any pain, I'm drinking like a fish, eating mushy stuff and on my way to feeling like myself again! Your get-together sounds fun, but it's so far for me to drive especially on a school night....I guess I have to pass. Maybe you'll have one on a Saturday sometime???

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

I had surgery with Dr. B on Wednesday and guess I'm recovering ok. I can't wait for the gas pains to stop! Did any of you feel like you had a lump in your throat and lower towards your stomach? My pain is almost like a spasm. This is the gas right? Anyway, trying very hard to drink and walk alot. Would love to hear from all of you! Kat
  7. I've been a lurker around here for a couple of months while researching lapband, finding a surgeon and scheduling a consultation. Today was my first appt with Dr. Bagnato in Albany GA. I went in with my list of questions and concerns and came out 1 hour & 45 minutes later with my decision made to schedule surgery. My surgery is Jan 30th....only 1 week away. I had already started Sugar Busters last week (as instructed by Dr. Bagnato's nurse) in case I decided to have the surgery and was pleasantly surprised at the 5 lbs already lost! But- I never want to go thru the sugar and caffeine withdrawals again.....that was awful. Anyway, just wanted to say "Hey" and introduce myself. I know I'll need support going thru this and hope to eventually be an encouragement to others coming here. Kat
  8. Today was my first appt with my surgeon. I know I'm very overweight (or why would I be in the surgeon's office right?), but almost fell out of my chair when I saw my BMI on the sever obesity scale!! :ohmy:WOW...what a wakeup for me. Did anyone else have this reaction? I've lost 5 lbs so far on the preop SugarBusters diet and still have a long way to go before I'm just very overweight and not severly obese. I WILL MAKE IT! Thanks, Kat
  9. Hi Jeannie - I'm using Dr. Bagnato too! He was really great and answered all of my questions and my husbands questions too. Following Sugar Busters has already made me feel better, so I'll probably continue with it after the liquids only phase. BTW....was your week of clear liquids only to bad?

    January Surgery Dates

Just got my date this afternoon....Jan 30th!
  11. I can still see the BMI chart and the words when I close my eyes!! To make it worse, my husband was there to see this too. ARGGGG. I gently encouraged him to get on the scale so we could chart his BMI, but he wouldn't do it!
