  1. Bagpipes are sexy. One of the few instruments that can give me chills. And the word you seek would be epispasm (επισπασμοσ, epispasmos). Umm... ouch.
  2. Will you marry me? Well, except for the whole I'm already married thing. AndI guess it would have to be, "Will you civil union me?"
  3. I'm thinking about changing my signature to, "Born OK the first time!" What do you think?
  4. Thank you! I believe this was the fastest year of my life. Could have been work, school, activity, activity... but I'd like to think some of it was the band.
  5. Is that the difference between being a Jew, and being Jew-ish?
  6. I don't like the taste of alcohol, but I love me a good amaretto sour - Disaronno, of course. I PBed today. Happy anniversary to me. But when I weighed this morning I was down another 4 lbs which makes a year total of just under 130lbs. And I'd drink to that!
  7. I can body shot out of a teacup. I think.
  8. Actually F the miniskirt. It's my one year band anniversary. You should be so lucky as to buy me a beer. (Or at least an amaretto sour, since I really can't stand beer)
  9. Is the Gentile Lager on tap? I'd wear a miniskirt for some of that. And you'd be blind from my "so white they're clear" legs way before you'd have to worry about seeing my toosh drooping out from under the mini.
  10. Is that like "I'm leaving this thread" and "I'm ignoring you"? Paraphrasing, o/c.
  11. Ok, for that matter what qualifies you to CONTINUOUSLY state what I do or do not know? We're back to the "-eD" word mentality, Ron. What's obvious to you is not obvious to everyone. I thought we already covered that. When you say "Apparently you don't know any. Apparently you don't know much about anything" NOTHING about that says, "you know nothing about theology" to me. ANYTHING is not synonymous with THEOLOGY. So NO, Ron, I don't know that. And apparently you don't know girls aren't usually named "Greg".
  12. Well remember - I was one of the worst of them, even though I wasn't active in the thread, and Laurend is a moderator. Green was a he, then a she, and now a he again. And on...
  13. Uh oh, now we're back to the near corner stage, where the attacks start coming. I'm vile, pathetic, disgusting, etc. -- and you're pretty much the same as Ann Coulter. Just take it for the desperation move it is and realize "That's all the better he is." When you see it from that perspective, it's virtually impossible to become upset about it. I'd love to attribute it to thick skin, but it's really just logic.
  14. Ron Cusano - serious question. How can you tell Carlene that (paraphrasing) "the nonsense people say on this thread frustrates you", and then make statements like "Apparenlt you don't know much about anything"? How could you possibly have any knowledge about what he knows outside of what he has stated to you or made publically available? You have no idea what his education is, or his hobbies, or what areas he advises in. Or what books he has read, or what shows he has watched, or what discussions he has had, or any of the other thousands off ways we receive knowledge. How does him disagreeing with you (which we know makes him "wrong") qualify you, in the slightest, to make any kind of judgement about what he does or doesn't know about "anything"? How is that not nonsense?
  15. Now THAT would make for an interesting thread!
  16. Actually, hang on. The color of the sky comes from refraction, not reflection. When color comes from reflection, we see the color that is reflected - hence the color that it is not. In refraction the color that reaches your eyes is what is being refracted - it has nothing to do with absorportion/reflection. You can see true color through refraction. You don't see the sky as blue because blue is being reflected and all other colors absorbed, you see it as blue because the blue color is being refracted down toward the surface (just as a spectrum spreads the colors out). That's (part) of why our sunsets are different colors. A different part of the spectrum is being refracted (think of a prism that reflects blue when the light is at one angle, and red when at another).
  17. I posted this a while ago. You may enjoy.
  18. I think that Lucifer and Satan were different entities is fairly widely accepted outside of fundamentalist christian circles. Many OT scholars believe it's inaccurate to associate Satan with evil. Heck, even us atheists get that. :kiss
  19. :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound:
  20. I don't know... "stupidest" has to be - at least - a runner up. Yes, that's tongue in cheek.
  21. Hahaha, noobs. (See, it's my one year band anniversary) I had my first PB on cheddar cheese, 3 days after surgery, with no fill. To date, it's one of my worst. Bingo! For the most part, anyway. I don't really have any limitations on the types of foods I can eat, but I do have limitations on when I can eat. I had some crustless pizza for dinner lastnight, didn't think twice about it. Had some for lunch today and had to pardon myself from a conference call to go yak it up. For me, eating before about 1pm is a hit or miss. Almost always it comes with pain, unless I stick (as I've learned to do) with Soups or warm soft foods. The weightloss does not (should not, anyway) come from being afraid to eat, it should come from portions being drastically reduced because the band encourages the "I'm full" trigger early into the meal.
  22. You can hang out with me, Green, Laurend, BJean, Lisa25, Carlene, and anyone else I'm failing to mention.
  23. Science can tell us that the sky is blue because of the refraction of light in the atmosphere, but I would not say that "the sky is blue" is an absolute reality.
  24. I think many things fit into this - politics being a prime example. That's why I DON'T encourage everyone to vote. I'd rather see someone not vote, than vote without knowing and understanding the issues and characters on the ballot.
  25. Yes, I am talking about myself.
