  1. So, is the Nutrionalist for presurgery diet too?
  2. I can't have vitamin K. I can't have black licorice :\
  3. I was told years ago that a high protein diet makes them more common. When Atkins diet got really big about 11 years ago I passed one and that's what the ER Dr said. True??? I don't know.
  4. @[member="Deb Hass I am 48 and a very finicky eater. Texture is my biggest problem with gagging on food. I have a very small variety of foods that I eat now and worry about that after surgery. My go to is always "chicken ". But that won't help me for presurgery diet and weeks after. I'll do what I have to, but it is concerning. I don't like any fruit or vegetables, yogurt, cream soups. ... my husband stated last night that he's concerned about me finding things to eat. On the other hand if I get hungry enough I will eat. Good luck! and keep in touch and maybe we can give each other ideas.
  5. It seems there are many to choose from. I am glad to see all the options. I'll start trying different ones now so it'll be less stressful than rushing to decide on one because my liquid diet is starting. Everything I can do ahead of time I'm going to do. Biggest thing currently is getting off diet coke. I have never been a water drinker so this will be a challenge for me. Even on days I drink less soda I just don't drink anything. I can do this though. ????
  6. Islagirl#1 I was wondering how they would deal with this. I am glad you found out that you have it so you can do what you need to do to stay safe. So, shots in your stomach everyday? It could be worse I guess. Thank you for sharing. I feel much better knoing it's not a deal breaker. Next hurdle. .. I'm ready.
  7. I see a psychiatrist already and I had an appointment earlier today and my Dr said when it came time for my evaluation let him know and he'll do mine and approve me. What a relief to not have that hanging over my head wondering if I will get hung up there. I am starting to think this might happen for me. Now ... I have new excitement and determination.
  8. Me neither. I'll see if I can figure it out. I did see we can message one another. I'll send you a message.
  9. No, I haven't had bartric surgery yet. I found out that I have it a couple years ago. My older brother told me he had it and my Dr ran some tests and found that I had it too. My blood is too thick basically. Green leafy vegetables cause your blood to thicken, especially kale. Like I said though, I am OK with that because I've never liked vegetables. They literally make me gag.
  10. I have Factor Five Leiden a blood Disorder. I take a blood thinner and have to watch what I eat. Green leafy vegetables are a no no, which is fine with me because I am a Very Finicky eater. However, I have other limitations on food. Does anyone else have this or any other type?
  11. Msb7 You just started too, so I would like to keep in touch. Is that alright? You can friend people on here right?

I just started taking Phentermine on Wednesday January 27th 2016. I have anxiety so it just didn't sound like a good idea but I thought it should be alright because my PCD knows about my anxiety. I don't want to eat in the evenings and I'm not jittery but I have had a continuous headache. It may be the dose (30mg) is just not too high. If I continue to have a headache I will probably quit taking it. Here's the thing, I just quit taking lorzepam that I was on for years (addicted) quit smoking January 4th 2016 and trying to get off of Diet Coke. So, who knows what the heck I'm actually feeling!!? Lol
  13. I am just learning about this... Do you guys buy a specific brand of Shakes? I've seen recipes for propel pop sickles and other things.
  14. I just told my husband that the Dr. Told me to consider surgery. I asked him to not tell anyone, that it might upset my daughter (age 13) . She worries too much, but it may be because I am a little embarassed. My husband's family is very judgmental. His mom doesn't even want to be seen with me in public.
  15. I have a 1 1/2 year old lab/great pyrenees mix. Sweetest dog...has to back out of rooms because she is too big to turn around.
  16. I picked up the prescription yesterday. . It's Phentermine 30 mg.
  17. I just started my 6 month supervised diet today. I have Medicare. Good luck everyone.
  18. I have seen my psychacitrist and he said he'll appove me. One less thing to worry about.
  19. @@southfloridasleever I also have Medicare and just began the gathering information process. I would really like to converse with you so we can share any information with one another.
  20. I live in Arkansas
  21. You guys are exactly right. I have had this Dr for eight years and she knows what I have done to try to lose weight. I obviously have a good deal to learn. The reason she gave me the prescription is to help me with weight loss and for documentation. I will go in every month for a check up. She hasn't agreed to recommend me for surgery. She asked me if I had considered surgery. Due to health issues it is difficult for me to exercise enough to lose the weight and because of the amount of weight I need to lose. I have a pulmonary embolism, emphysema ando because I am so overweight back pain. Today is just day one for me when it comes to learning about any type of surgery so I have a long way to go. The three to six months comment was how long she wants to document my weight loss attempt. I have Medicare. I just want to get an idea of what to expect if I decided that I would like to move forward. Trust me I am not going to act like a know it all. I probably no the least of everyone on here, that is why I am asking all of you. Thank you for any and all help.
