I called them.. They said they sent it in Friday, called for the status on Monday and again on Thursday and gave me the exact times. I trust my doctors office sent it in for me as they said. The insurance company I'm not so trusting with them tho... Sad thing is now... Although I did everything the insurance company required of me and having sleep apnea as well... I'm second guessing they will approve me... I hate thinking that!!

Frustrated!! My doctors office said they sent in everything to the insurance company for approval a week ago... However the rude insurance lady said my doctors office called in just a couple hours ago and they haven't received my clinical's to even start the approval process. I know this will eventually work itself out... But after 7 long months and the anticipation is starting bug me.. Grrr (lol I've never grrr'd before online lol)

I've checked this about 20 time today hoping to hear from ya Frank!! I'm sure it does suck right now and I'm sure I'll have some of the same problems in a few weeks as well.. But it's good to hear from ya Ole Boy!!

I have united health care/ UMR.. It a great county government health care plan... I jumped thru all the hoops the last 7-8 months and they sent it in for approval yesterday. Just wondering how long it takes to get the approval sent back... Anyone??

Well I just got my phone call this morning. They submitted everything to my insurance company. They said it will take a bout a week for them to approve it. Next step is the 2 week pre op diet and a meeting with the anesthesiologist.. She said my date will be Feb 16th if insurance approves it quickly or Feb 29th if it takes longer for the approval. Im really excited and nervous of course but after 7 months of jumping through hoops I'm ready!! Hope the best for everyone! I really like this site, being able to communicate with real people with my same issues.. It really helps!

I'm not on the pre-op diet yet, starting probably this week.. But yep, it's a all liquid diet.. Not looking forward to it but I'll do it. Good to hear your doing well.. I'm sure the first couple days are rough.. I'm gonna get ready for post op soon.. Recommend anything to prepare us?

Your right about Pouncy.. He hasn't played but 16 games in 3 years.. He's kinda fragile I guess!! Next year might look good for us. How you doing post op?

I live 2 hours south of Pittsburgh. Die hard Steelers fan. They did well this year, considering Big Ben was hurt, Antonio was out and Deangelo and Le'von was out too.. Have like 3 weeks till surgery, they are calling this week for the date.. 2 week pre-op liquid diet this week. I'm gonna get a steak !! Ha

I understand what your thinking.. The I'm gonna do it's and ah hell no's... Like you, I'm a manly man.. I served in the military and I'm deputy of 17 years and a Lieutenant to boot.. I get it!! I really do.. But I look at it like this.. I'm more scared not to. If I don't my destructive eating will get me first.. I feel this tool will give me no choice to eat and live a healthier life.. And besides that, I'm over the drinking beer phase anyways.. I have people who depend on me, so it really a no brainier for me. You got this

Just had my last appointment with my surgeon. Now waiting on approval from UMR. My doctor said surgery should be within the next three weeks and then he explained to me the two week pre-op diet. I'm excited for my life to change but nervous of the pain. I hope this is worth it

Very helpful. I just downloaded this app today and it's nice to chat with people who understands the problems and frustrations of obesity.. It's also helpful that people, like me are nervous about some of the changes knowing its permanent. Psychologically I look forward to be liberated from this even knowing the work I must put in.

It's the 4 th quarter for me too. I'm also getting nervous. I'm not super big but big enough where I have troubles tying my shoes ect.... Tomorrow I have my last appointment with my surgeon and will be submitting it into insurance.. Not looking forward to the pain but I'm welcoming the change
