@@Rez1978 hi and yes i already went to the seminar .I have an appoiment with doctor bloomenthal i think thats his name (haha) on monday .

So i went in for the seminar last night..i loved it. The surgeon explain everything i was confuse about and i have my first appt on the 22 .. i also made an appoiment with the psych.and they said the eveluation is divided into two appts. The 1st one i have to go at 8 am for 3 HOURS !! i was like what ? Lol thats longer than the surgery itself . Anyone know why so many hours ?

@@RobynTurner also if you call your insurance and ask them if your policy covers it they will tell you. Thats what I did .

@@RobynTurner have you tried google .. if not than you should google something like " does cigna insurance covers weight loss surgery " you might find some info.

@@shrinkingkimber that is awesome ! You are lucky. My insurance covers it too and they require 3 months of diet wich still not that bad. Good luck

Hi , everyone . I love reading all this posts and getting informed on WLS since i am starting My journey. I have dealt with obesity all my life .But During the last 4-5 years i had children and My Weight became worst .. I am 5 ft tall and weight at approx. 220-240 pounds. My fathers side of the family are all obese 300+ pound . I am so tired of been tired because of my weight .. I cant even enjoy my kids because my ankles would hurt so bad plus Im always tired.. after 6 Months of thinking about it i decided enough was enough and called the bariatric center in my state (rhode island) .On feb 10th i have to attend a seminar and than i could make an appt with my surgeon ..i have all type of mix emotions but im mostly excited . I just want to be happy and healthy so that i could see my babies grow :-) Can you guys share your stories ? What is your goal ? In what stage of the process are you ? . :-)

If so, what surgeon did you went to ? How was the process ?

Well i had one for a d&c (still preo-op) and all i remember was been in the pre-op room & the guy telling me " you are going yo feel a little sleepy " and i was out .. first thing i remember was the nurse telling me to breath .

I guess in my state is different .. i called my insurance and they have no requirements only the surgeons letter . And when i call the surgeons office they aid i have to attend a seminar feb 9th than call them on the 10th and make an appoiment with the surgeon after that i will see the nutrionist .

I am prepare for the surgery . I was just asking to get informed and get advice .. i would never not go for blood work or anything that can make my health worst .. i have for little ones counting on me so my health is number 1 . Again just looking for information and advice.

Thank you for replying . Yes i read about the vitamins and calcium . Some of the post i read claim they did verything vitamins , calcium , flossing etc and they still had tooth loss .. they said something about acid and vomiting ..i have always been scared of loosing my teeth but of course if i get approve i will go to the dentist first just to get some extra advice.

Okay so yesterday i posted about wanting to get WLS . Some suggested researching and reading about it . Well i started doing that today and i read alot about tooth decay after WLS. I was wondering if anybody can share some experiences or some knowledge on the subject. It kind of freaked me out.

Thank you all .. i asked my insurance if there is a requirement of a diet and they said no . Just the letter .i made an appoiment with the surgeon and nutricionist but have to attend to a seminar on feb 9th. Did anyone atten the seminar and can tell me a little about it .

Thank you all for the replys .. I just called My insursnce and they told me they only need a letter from the surgeon . No other requirements needed. I'm going to a seminar on feb 9 . Anybody tell me how long did they process take between the seminar , surgeon , & diet ? Thank you.

Hi everyone , My name is Jessica and i have been obese most of my life . My fathers side of the family all suffer from obesity (300+pounds) . During the last 5 years i had 4 kids and my weight became worst. I have tried exercise , diets and when i do lose some weight i would regain twice the amount i lost in a day ... i feel like such a bad mother because of my weight .I cant do much with my kids because my body is just so tired .I'm 5 ft tall and last time i weight myself 5 months ago i was 220 pounds . And i know i have gained weight . I'am so ready to be "normal" but i also don't know what to expect , or if i even qualify ... what do you guys think ?
