BCBS anthem
I have BCBS ANTHEM and I'm really not familiar with using my insurance however I think the prices for out of pocket with insurance are horrendous. I'm paying 1600 for my surgery after insurance and 1300 for my one night hospital stay that's 3000! How much did everyone pay after insurance. Sent from my SM-G928V using the BariatricPal App

pRE-OP DIET
Anyone not go through the 2 week preop diet? My dr's office called and gave me a surgery date of 8/24. I have a visit to prepare me for surgery on 8/18 however no one has mentioned anything to me about a diet of any sort pre surgery. I know the day before I have a "diet" of liquids. anyone else not have to go through a two week diet? Sent from my SM-T807V using the BariatricPal App

Gastric Sleeve Realities
I thought I understood this procedure but now I am confused. I have seen so many people writing about eating foods remorsedully after surgery. Can you really never have soda or dessert or pizza again (examples of food). My impression was you want to eat healthy Protein rich foods and generalLY avoid junk foods. However I did not expect people to say they can never have an unhealthy moment again! Maybe one chicken wing instead of 12. A bite of burger instead of 2. Can someone who had surgery actually educate me on what eating is like afterwards. Sent from my SM-T807V using the BariatricPal App

BCBS ANTHEM- quick turnaround
I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else needed it. I have BCBS anthem as my insurance. They required 40% or 35% and comorbidities. I qualified under 40% no comorbidities. They did require a 6 month process which I undertook with my dietician and saw my doctor 3 times in the process. They also required a psych eval. I had my final appointment June 24th and my psych visit June 29th, information was sent to the insurance June 30th. I was approved July 11th! Sent from my SM-T807V using the BariatricPal App
