1. I watch a LOT of wls vids on youtube (seriously waaaay too many). The community on there seems really cool and supportive. It's really amazing to see people's transformations and it would be nice to have that record to go back to later. Plus it seems easier to connect with people when you can see and hear them. The problem is the idea of making a channel freaks me out. Do I really want everyone I know to see me going through this personal stuff? People from work or my past? I think I'm too shy and private for that type of venue. I wish this site had video sharing options, so I could share in that way, but know that it was going to stay in a community focused on wls. I do want some way to document everything, to learn from it and to Celebrate my progress. I guess I'll probably just take photos for myself and maybe journal. 2. That looks amazing! I'd love to ride a horse but until I shrink down to a healthy weight, it would be cruelty to animals! Maybe I will add that to my future NSV goals? Sent from my LGLS740 using the BariatricPal App
  3. Congrats! How are you feeling? What's it like on "the other side"? Sent from my LGLS740 using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thank you all for the suggestions! I really hate fake sugars. Aspartame and Splenda taste like bitter poison to me. Finding Protein shakes that are low in sugar but don't use either of those sweeteners is a challenge! I'm preop and trying to find options that will work post surgery. I suspect I'll need to figure out ways to use the unflavored whey powders. I've been using Calnutrale "Svelte" shakes. They have stevia and taste pretty good but they only have about 11g of protein.
  5. Hello, West Seattle here!! I'm a little behind you guys. My presurgical consultation is tomorrow. I've already done my prerequirements (tests, labs, educational class)....except my 5% weight loss. Group Health says it's required before they will schedule the surgery date. (I'm on the exercise bike while I type this)! Even if I don't get a set date tomorrow it's starting to feel real. I heard they are booking Aug dates right now. I hope I at least get one by September. We'll see! Good luck to you all!
  6. I am looking for protein shakes that don't contain artificial sweetners or splenda, but are still bariatric friendly. I guess that leaves stevia?
