  1. I now have 8cc's in my band and I go back August 24th..I have been really restricted but no major weight loss yet..I have really been losing inches instead of pounds..I hate the scales so I just go by my clothes and Dr. Penningtons scales...
  2. hello healed32, I too had my surgery by dr.pennington in august of 2008. I really like dr.pennington..How has your weight loss been since your surgery. Mine has been slow
  3. Hello Tarabell, I did the same thing after I got my band..My weight would go up and down until now. I was getting aggravated and very discouraged. I have a 10cc standard band and at my last fill it gave me 7 cc's and now I am at my sweet spot. I have to be very careful what I put in my mouth because usually after 3 bites of food I am finished or PB. I am really starting to see a difference. I quit going by my scales. I have been going by my measurements and the way my clothes fill.. Some people get restricted right away and some of us just has to wait for our sweet spot but you will get there..Good Luck..
  4. I was banded August 22, 2008.. As of today I have only lost 30lbs but have lost 11 inches..My band is just know kicking in and I am feeling more restricted..I know most of the slow weightloss is due to my own weaknesses but not anymore..After reading how far some of you have come that really motivated me..I go for another fill this friday and that will give me 7 1/2cc's in my 10cc band..By my 1 year I am pushing for some good results..Good Luck to everyone...
  5. i have been doing the low carb slimfast and they hardly have any sugars and 20 grams of protein...my doctor said that shakes and a small meal a day was okay too. i am finding the more fills i get the less i want to eat so the shakes help me get my protein in for the day .
  6. I went in on Sept. 19 to have my first fill since my banding on Aug. 21. I was told I have a standard size band. My doctor put 1 1/2 cc in. It didn't even hurt and he had no trouble finding my port. He just layed me back on the table and put a pillow under my back and told me to raise up like I was doing a crunch and he found my port and injected my fill in there and it was over. He numbed the injection site first before he put in my fill. I don't get hungry and I just find there are certain things I have to be careful eating but I don't feel a whole lot of restriction yet. I can still eat over a cup full but I can't eat like I use too..It will soon be 3 months and no diet pepsi or any carbinated drinks. WOW......I am going back Oct. 15th for my 2nd fill so maybe that will help me be more restricted. As for my weight I have only lost 26 lbs since my surgery but I don't rely on my scales a whole lot. I have been measuring and have lost 11 1/2 inches and my energy is coming back. I am playing sports again with my family and not sitting on the couch in pain so thats a plus. I have learned you can't wait for your old habits to break you, you have to break your old habilts. I was a compulsive overeater before my surgery so this has been a battle for me but I am winning...
  7. Hey Bobbie, I did the same thing I failed my stress test. I have a rapid heart rate and didn't get to take my meds that morning and I thought that is what made me fail but to find out after my heart catherization I have a 10% blockage. They won't do anything unless its 70% blocked. I had my lap band surgery August 21 and am doing fine. My cardiologist told me with weightloss and exercise that will take care of my blockage...It is always better to be safe than sorry...I hope everything goes well and I'm sure it will...Marie
  8. Hi crzytchr I just take my chicken and remove the skin and really mash it up before I eat it.. and just take really small bites I do that with all my foods. I told one of my daughters last night that I never thought I would be picking at my food before I eat it insted of just woofing it down...lol
