  1. Me too! Good luck! Me three, lol! May 3rd and start my 9 day liquid diet on Sunday. I am allowed to have 2 shakes, 1 Triple Zero Oikos yogurt w/ 1 scoop unflavored Protein powder, and broth, SF Popsicles and SF Jello.
  2. Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I am having mine on May 3rd. I got the GenPro protein powder and I also bought Bluebonnet whey protein isolate in chocolate flavor. I also got Premiere protein shakes. Other things I got are: SF Popsicles, SF jello, OIKOS Triple Zero yogurts in a lot of flavors, PB2 peanut powder to add to my shakes, 32 and 16 ounce zippy style measured bottles for my water, baby spoons, a lot of small 1/2 cup containers, cream soups, chicken and beef broths, GasX strips and Mirilax. Best of luck on your surgery!
  3. Congrats on the surgery date! I will be having mine on May 3rd.[emoji846]
  4. Best of luck to everyone on surgery day! I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
  5. Congrats on your approval![emoji846][emoji106]????
  6. My surgery is May 3rd.[emoji846] I start my 9 day liquid diet on April 24.
  7. The only person that knows about my upcoming surgery is my husband. My plan for when a family member or acquaintance asks me about the weight loss is as follows: I have been blessed and that I am on a high protein/ low fat diet. I feel that is the truth without actually divulging my WLS.
  8. Congrats on your approval!
  9. I am so sorry! That must be so disappointing for you.[emoji53]
  10. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Good luck.[emoji846][emoji106]????
  11. I was originally going to have the DS but because of my extreme GERD, my doctor and I decided the RNY was a better option for me.
  12. I live in New York State and Medicare is completely covering my RNY surgery.
  13. Welcome photoman06 and congrats on your upcoming surgery! Try and go back and read previous threads to learn as much info as you can and don't be afraid to ask questions. I have found the WLS community to be very supportive here and on other sites.[emoji846]
  14. Best of luck on your surgery! I am having RNY surgery on May 3rd and start my 9 day liquid diet on the 24th. I originally wanted the Duodenal Switch but because of my severe GERD I decided RNY was a better choice.
  15. As everyone else has said, those six months will fly by. I started my process in Dec. 2015 and am just finally having my surgery on May 3......that will be six months and I didn't even have a six month requirement. The time really did go by quickly with all the tests, appts, classes, etc. I spent a lot of time learning everything that is necessary to be successful in this process. Take this time to learn all you can....all the vets are so knowledgable. Start focusing on high protein and low carbs; getting all your water in every day and just making little changes in preparation for this life changing journey.[emoji846]
  16. Thank you everyone for the support!
  17. m so excited! I just got the call for my surgery date. Surgery will be May 3rd at Adirondack Medical Center with Dr. Michael Hill. I start my 9 day liquid diet on April 24 the and have my pre-op appt. on April 21st.
  18. In my program we have a choice of a 2 week special diet which consists of 1 piece of fruit, a dinner consisting of 3 oz. protein with veggies and the rest of day you have protein shake a liquids, followed by all liquids the last day or the 2 nd options of a 9 day liquid diet. I prefer the 9 day liquid diet and just get it done.
  19. CHMD and daniotra, thank you for the great advice! [emoji846] I will take that to heart and start separating my food and drink because I understand how important it is. My bariatric program hasn't suggested practicing the part of the program other than stating I can't have fluids 30 min. prior to, during and 1 hour following all meals.
  20. Congrats on getting your surgery date! I am excited for you!
  21. OMG, lol....your stating everything that I have been thinking but haven't actually stated out load. I haven't been practicing not drinking before, during or after meals but I probably should since I know that is going to be the most difficult for me. I just thought it best to keep hydrated. I am also still waiting for a surgery date. I do know that I have always understood it best to keep hydrated to help you lose weight but I don't know how it would affect staying full longer by waiting after eating prior to this type of surgery.
  22. So wonderful! A big congrats and best of luck on your journey. I am so excited for you! [emoji846]
  23. My surgeon gives you a choice of either a 2 week pre-op diet that consists of specific meals with a dinner of 3 oz. of protein and veggies, plus fruit and protein drinks during the day; or the second choice is a 9 day liquid diet. With either choice, your last day is all liquids. I told my nut that I prefer the 9 day liquid diet. It is a requirement across the board for every patient from my understanding. I think it just all depends on the surgeon and the medical center.
