How many fills until you felt restriction

I am a little over a year in from getting my lap band. November 2015. I struggled with it because just its placement in my body caused restriction. Believe it or not I'm going to get my first adjustment next week because I now I have days I feel restricted but I can still push through and eat. Everyone is different. I went a whole year restricted without any adjustments and in my first six to eight months I lost 124 lbs. But within the 3 and a half months I've gained almost 20 and I'm struggling to get back in the swing of things

    Empty but restricted

That may be an option. I really don't know what to do. The goal with this surgery is to aid in weight loss but not through malnutrition or starvation. He's satisfied with the fact that I can still keep liquids down so I can get my nutrition through my Protein shakes and I can stay hydrated but my quality of life sucks. The only thing he could offer me was that he agrees that the band is tight but there's nothing to remove and that he thinks if I lost a little bit more weight it would help. I still have some fat around that area that will go away giving the band more room to expand on its own but if I continue with these eating issues he recommends removal Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

    Empty but restricted

Soooo... I'm 4 months post op (11/04/15) and although per my nutritionist and surgeon I'm cleared to eat regular textures, I can't. I'm so frustrated with eating and chewing everything till mush. I haven't had a hot meal since I got banded. By the time I chew something up my food is cold and is even less appetizing. I'm so restricted it's depressing. Everything gets stuck . Big or small, liquid or solid...it gets stuck. My band is empty. I've never been adjusted. ..no need. I'm restricted just with the band placement. A meal should be between 4-6 oz but I'm stuck at about 2. I can keep fluids down but it takes forever to eat or drink anything. I saw my surgeon and he says that my band does appear to be tight but he can't empty it. There's nothing to remove. I admit that at times I still eat 2 fast or don't chew enough but whether I do or not everything gets stuck. I stick to Protein shakes, yogurt and other soft stuff at work cause I can't run off to vomit every few minutes till the blockage is gone. Which brings me to the wicked acid reflux. GERD sucks. On a lighter note...I'm down 57lbs. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Any vegan lap banders out there?

I'm not vegan but I try to incorporate a meatless Monday in my home because my father has a history of high blood pressure high cholesterol and for a moment my husband was borderline as well. I've Incorporated firm tofu in our meals I use it as a ground beef replacement it's great in chili and pastas.
  5. I used the shakes sold at my doctor's office for my pre-op and post-op. Recently it's been difficult to prep with four children but my nutritionist has recommended a pre-made shake called Premier Protein. It has 30 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar and only 160 calories and they come in 11-ounce Tetra Pak and they're very filling. The brand that I use for my doctor is called Thorne research Medi Pro Meal Essentials. 30 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber, and 210 calories. they're great . They're lactose-free gluten-free wheat-free sucralose &Aspartame free and they're very filling and very delicious they even had a chai tea flavor. I buy the premier protein shakes at BJ'S but they only carry chocolate, which is delicious...but I'm already limited with food options so I want variety. You can get all 3 flavors at Sam's or Costco. They're great. Sometimes I have a problem with deciding what to eat what or what I'm in the mood for and with my job and 12 hour shifts sometimes I don't have time to sit down and eat let alone chew slowly so I sip on a a shake as a meal.
