  1. It can be pretty tough finding younger people to relate to gastric bypass. I'm carly! I'm 27 but yes I look a lot younger. I originally had the lapband put in January 2010 and now almost six years later I just had it revised to a roux en y on 12/22/2015. I'm still super sore on the big incision on my left but didn't get a drain or anything. Really hoping this decision helps me get my life back
  2. I have been open about it once things get "serious" and it's a few months in but it hasn't been something I have volunteered from the get go. My ex and I were together for three years and he was very aware of my band and supportive of what I needed to do
  3. Am I the only person that just doesn't tell the person I am interested in about my surgery? I had the lapband for five years and just had it revised to bypass. Dating has always been awkward and i dread dinner dates. I hate being stared at by the guy and asked why I am eating so slow or why I didn't eat so much. Or even worse when I had the band the constant running I the bathroom to "cough", up food. I was embarrassed of the weight I had gained that caused me to get the band in the first place and even more embarrassed when I still wasn't as skinny as I thought I should be.

  5. I originally got the band in 2010 and did fine with it up until the past year when I started having constant nausea and severe pain on my left side. Originally thought I had a kidney infection, nope just my band majorly slipping and a lovely case of GERD that lead to Barrett's. So yes, got my band out and my roux en y all in one swoop, my abdomen is killing me! The left side where the doctor pulled everything out of feels like my guts are going to come out at any minute. I struggle to sleep comfortably and am just getting overall super frustrated with everything. Am I the only one that dealt with this issue? Ready to get over this and start feeling back to normal
