  1. LAXITIVES! I just had surgery yesterday and let me tell you owwie! My tummy! I cant go and it hurts. I didnt think I would have to go because I havent had anything but clear liquids for the last four days, but I was wrong. Dont forget to get this or you may be as sorry as I am. I just took some but its a day late a dollor short. If I could do it over again Id have started taking them right after surgery even though I didnt feel like going until the next day. It would have really helped.
  2. I made it alive. I write more when less pain. I love my band...welcome band to ur new home
  3. I got to Mexico this morning. Very tired. left at 11:45 pm, arrived here at 8:10am, and didnt sleep because the ride was full of so much turbulance I was scared to death. Drinks were coming off of the trays from the bumps. So I was tired when I got here. Slept for an hour and had to start with my preop apts. Saw the cardio first. Yay my heart is healthy. Then came back and laid down for thirty min. Then they woke me up to go to the psych consult and then to preop apt with the Dr who will be placing the band. I havent been allowed to eat in three days accept for S/F popcycles and jello and broth. So no sleep+no eating=cranky cranky.
  4. My surgery is this Thursday July 16th
  5. Hi, Im getting banded on Thursday morning in Monterrey Mexico. I leave tonight on a red eye flight. Im a 28 year old mom of two precious little ones. Im going alone because my husband has to stay home and work and take care of the kids. Im feeling alone and scared about traveling to another country by myself for surgery, and I thought that if I started this thread to keep you all posted then I might feel better while Im in Mexico. Ill post here when I arive tomorrow and again before and after surgery. If you have time feel free to say hi. My Dr is Dr Rumbaut:redface:
  6. Hi Joe? write back when you can. I totally understand. Im exactly where you are. I leave for Mexico today and Im really scared and hoping that Im doing the right thing.
  7. BBK, are you going to put up new pics on makemeheal that youve had your revision? I only see your pics before your revision surgery where you were having problems. Id like to see how it turned out when he fixed them. Are you happy with everything now?
  8. ok today marks my one week! I leave for Mexico on Tuesday night and have surgery on Thurday morning. I cant believe Im actually doing this! Im really scared and excited at the same time! Im also going threw the nesting stage of cleaning and prepping. I just started today. The realization of it happening has finally set in. I can relate to what every one else is saying on this post. Ill keep you guys updated when I get to Mexico. I am traveling alone so Im sure Ill be posting on here looking for company and support. =)
  9. Good luck girls! Im still a week away and practically having anxiety attacks so I can only imagine how ya'lls nerves are! Deep breaths! Cant wait to hear from everyone
  10. So did the restriction stick with you? Or did it go away as suddenly as it came?
  11. Oh you are ALREADY banded Juniper! Congrats!
  12. Oh hi Juniper! I remember you. Actually the first surgery I had schedualed was in May lol But then right after I started posting with the May group, the swine flue scared the heebies out of me because Im going to Mexico, so I resched for June, and now July! haha Third times a charm! Even though I was only chatting with the May group for a week I remember you. Sorry to hear about your gall blader. I can see in your siggy that you had it removed. But July seems like a great month to be banded! Whats your date?
  13. a heating pad for sure! I have heard from all my friends who were banded in June that the gas pain is the worst part of the surgery and the heating pad is the only thing that gives them relief in between their shoulder blades. Also Im going to get a stomich binder and a wedge pillow. And lastely if anyone else is traveling to MX dont forget surgical mask to wear on the plane. They recycle that air ya know! Gross!!
  14. Hi Lisa, how tall are you? Im 5'0" (bearly) and my doc says I can aim for 120-125. So unless you are super short that does sound tiney!
  15. my fill dr says he will only do two CCs at the most. =( Its gonna take me foreverrrrrrr to get restriction if you guys dont feel anything with 3. And after the first fill he does them even smaller. Maybe to get more $. More fills =more $. lol
  16. awwww Well I wasnt planning on leaving the June group. Now that Ive gotten to know everyone there Im too nosey so Ill be checking in on all my June friends every day. I will just have two groups now.
  17. Hi Scott. I am leaving for Mexico for surgery with the same Dr in 10 days. I cant wait to read the reast of your blog when you post.
  18. Hi Robin, I remeber you from the June group. Did your rash get all cleared up? I also had to move my surgery to July (because of plane tickets and babysitting issues). I leave in ten days for mexico. I have my surgery on the 16th, a few days before you. Nice to see a familiar face in the group.
  19. I was suposed to be a June bandster but had to resched to July 16th. I leave for Mexico on July 14th. I have been hanging out in the June group, but now that they are all banded, they are all looking forward to fills and Im the only one without surgery yet. :smile2: So I thought Id come in here and meet all of you so I can have someone to talk to about my surgery jitters. I think Id just be kind of annoying over there talking about how nervous I am about surgery and blah blah since they are all past that stage in their journeys. So Im looking forward to getting to know all of you and getting banded in less than two weeks. ~headin_to_mxico
  20. wow three CC's seems like an agressive fill. Is that normal? I hope I get a fill that big. I have read on here that people get frustrated because a lot of Drs give such small fills the first few times that it takes three or more fills to feel any restriction. I have heard that some docs will only do 1cc or 2ccs. Keep us posted and let us know if you have restriction when your back on solids.
  21. My doc says full liquids are anything you can suck threw a straw. So if I add some Water or non fat milk to the yogart then that is a full liquid. But not a clear liquid. Also same thing with pudding or anything. I can puree things and add liquid to them and if they are smooth and thin then it is a liquid as far as my doc is concerned. But not a clear liquid. So while Im on clears I cant have yogarts or puddings or anything. Only like broth and things that are clear. But once I move to the full liquid phase of the diet then yogarts are a total green light as long as I add a little water to thin it out.
  22. What did the Dr say? Is your button still leaking?
  23. Bristle, whats a rib support and where do you buy it?
  24. You look great! But I have to say that also looks VERY painful
