  2. So, today was my consultation with my surgeon. I was so nervous because I was supposed to lose 25 pounds and I've only lost 22. BUT everything went well. We discussed which surgery was right for me and he agreed with me when I said I wanted bypass surgery. I'm a sugar freak and he agreed that the bypass was the better choice. He explained a few things I already knew, I asked all the questions I needed to ask. My number one concern was... When can I go to Disneyland? Lol. He said right after but please please please remember to drink drink drink or you'll end up in the hospital the next day for dehydration. Anyway, my surgery date is May 24, but I am on the cancellation list. Who knows maybe I can get surgery earlier. It's finally real to me. It's finally happening and I am so excited. Just wanted to express my happiness. [emoji2] [emoji1] [emoji106]
  3. I just looked at my records. Half way through I had lost 6 pounds. I couldn't stop cheating during the weekends at that point. After that I just did a lot of cardio. If you do weights, you will gain muscle, so don't be too hard on yourself. You're probably losing weight but gaining muscle. I plan on using weights after surgery when the doc clears me. I just saw your profile, looks like we are close at weights and we are the same height! It's hard to find someone that is at your level as far as body type. I'll definitely keep you posted on my weight loss progress and how much I'm eating.... If you want.. Only because we are similar.. Right now I'm at 232 even.. but you might weigh a lot less than that on surgery day.
  4. @BariatricBetty24 No, I got nervous with the surgeon I had scheduled because I am not at the 10% I was supposed to lose, so I switched to a different one. I have only lost 21 pounds out of the 25 they wanted me to lose. I got almond_jays surgeon, which I am scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30. I will definitely fill you in on my results. I'll be too excited not to. Lol.
  5. Unfortunately, my experience was not the same as everyone else. During my options program I met with the doctor. He told me to get on birth control but I brushed it off because I am single and because he didn't sound serious. Well, he was serious, so my referral to the surgery department was on hold until I was on birth control. They don't accept the pill form because my stomach wont be the same and I would not be able to be consistent with them. I graduated Options April 7. On April 20, they called me and told me my referral could not be sent until I was on birth control. So I had the IUD inserted on Friday April 29. As soon as I got home, I called and left a voicemail. They called me back Monday May 2 and I let them know I was on birth control. On May 3, the surgery dept called me to schedule my appointment for a consult. So, my advice to you is, make sure you do everything they ask you to do before you complete your classes. I wish I had gone the day I had the appointment. I should have been scheduled for surgery already but I didn't listen. Keep me posted with your progress, I'd love to hear about it. BTW... you can probably get yoru surgery moved to harbor city, where I am. I think hat is where @@almond_jay came from. She was doing her Options in West LA. I am lucky enough to live just 5 minutes away from Harbor City
  6. Will do.. I can't wait.. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  7. Well... I panicked.. And just called... I changed it to Dr Zane for Friday instead of Dr. Mun on Thursday. I have an extra day to lose more weight. Lol I thought it was going to take another week for the different doctor. BTW how much weight did you lose by your consult date. I tried adding you to Instagram but I guess you declined my request.
  8. @@almond_jay What do you mean stricter? Oh man. I gained a few pounds that I'm desperately trying to lose before Thursday. I don't think I'm going to make it before weigh in. You think he will postpone my surgery date?
  9. Great advice!! Thank you I'll try to stock up by next week. I'll know my surgery date by then. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  10. @@erp that's funny you mention cottage cheese.... I use eggwhites right now! Lol it gives me an extra 10 on Protein. Thank you for that.. I'll try it for a diffident taste. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

  12. Wow! Thank you guys! This is good stuff! So far, I only have one tub of protein powder. I was going to buy a few more on pay day. Thank you for the warning. I'll wait till after surgery and see if I still like the one I have.[emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106]

  15. Hi everyone I will have surgery sometime this month. I am very excited but it's still unreal. The reason I wanted to start this topic is because I was wondering if there is anything you learned after surgery. Advice of any kind; things that made recovery easier, food or Snacks used after surgery that were good, routine advice? Anything you can share that you learned on your own experience. I would love to hear your stories. Hacks that made life easier after surgery. Anything!! Warnings of what's to come for me. It's one thing when you have paper work telling you what will happen. But what about the things that they don't tell you. Things like that are things I would love to hear. Thank you so much for your replies in advance
  16. Btw.. Who did your surgery? I'm getting Dr Mun
  17. @@almond_jay I added you to my IG but it's private so I'm waiting.. Anyway, I'm sure you had surgery already. How are you feeling? How long did it take? I finally got my call today. My consultation is May 12. I'm so excited. I'm so close I can feel it!
  18. Well.. Good luck.. God willing, everything will go great and your weight loss will jump start. I'm happy for you. I just got the birth control that they required me to get, I think because I have no kids but I can't say for sure. My referral has been sent, so now I have to wait. I hope I get mine at least before June 1st.. Wish me luck. By the way, I hope you don't mind if I ask questions about how your surgery went. I know you'll be in recovery but when you feel better. Have a stress free day and I'm sure everything will go well. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  19. @almond_jay In less than two days is the big day huh... How exciting! So what happened in the education center? What did they tell you? What did you have to do? Are you doing liquids today? How long were you there?
  20. Yeah I think so.. This is for Kaiser Options program. It was for 12 weeks. Man, 6 months sounds like a long time. Then again I thought 12 weeks was long but I made it. Lol Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  21. My insurance already authorized it. Otherwise I wouldn't be in the program. To get a date, I need to have my consultation with the surgeon. I can't get my consultation until I get birth control. I won't get birth control until the 29th. So yeah... Like I said, I am delayed. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  22. So I got a same day appointment today for OB and as luck would have it, my visitor came today 3 hours before my appointment. Yey me ???? I went in anyway and she discussed my options with me and scheduled me for 1 week later for the IUD. I was bummed because they won't send my referral until I have it done. I am already being delayed more than I would have liked. But at least I know I will have surgery soon. I need to stop dragging my feet in the mud and suck it up. It's not like this minor set back is preventing me from having the surgery. It's just a couple of weeks delayed. Did I just give myself a pep talk? Lol ... Just venting a little..
  23. Well.. I just got my "call" they told me that I haven't gone to my OB-GYN to get birth control. I didn't know it was mandatory so I brushed it off since I am single. They can't send the referral until I go. I just got off the phone with the appointment center and they are booked. ???? I feel like crying. I'm so sad that I cheated real bad. 24. Heyyyyyy @@thegentleoso ... I had wondered what had happened to you. How is the weight loss going? How much have you lost? You're about 2 months post op, tell me about t your experience. I'd love to hear about it. I also plan on using the jello.
  25. @@evelaine I'm so glad I could help. You can start taking the Bariatric Choice Multivitamin now if you want to. I already had a multi and wanted to finish it and the others I have before surgery. My doctor also told me not to take children's, men's or any type of gummy. I still have a month or so before I get surgery. I don't have a date yet but I hope it's before June 1. Anyway, have a nice day and good luck. [emoji2]
