  10. So, my surgery is this Tuesday the 24th of May. Just curious if I'm prepared or not. This is what I have besides a change of clothes and my cell phone... 1. Chapstick 2. A Blanket 3. Toothbrush 4. Toothpaste 5. Mouthwash 6. Body wash 7. My tablet 8. Chargers 9. hair brush 10. Deodorant 11. Wash rag 12. Slippers 13. Gas X Strips 14. Socks 15. Q-Tips 16. Lotion I don't normally wear makeup, so that isn't on my list. So this is what I have in my bag as of now. I don't plan on washing my hair at the hospital because it's soooo long and I just want it out of my way at all times during recovery. Don't worry, I'm washing it the morning of. If there is anything I am missing please let me know. I hope I have everything down. I've waited 5 months for this and it's finally here.

  14. I wrote down all my questions in my phone so I wouldn't forget anything. Also, I recorded my whole appointment because I didn't want to forget anything he said. I have heard it twice and there are a few things i didn't remember him saying.. Lol.. Maybe I was too nervous. But still... It's so exciting at the same time. I hope your appointment goes great!
  15. On my list I don't have much. I'm getting chicken/beef broth, cream of tomato Soup and sugar free Jello. I hear jello is a real success. I'm only shopping for the liquid diet Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

  17. Lol.. It's so true. I am also fearing the change but hope to adjust very quickly with out a fight. I'm so glad there are a few of us. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  18. Yes @@Shemekasr, I will go shopping tomorrow, I have a list ready and everything. I'm holding off on protein powder until after surgery because I know my tastes will change and I want to make sure I will still like the one I have now. But I am SO excited more than anything!! I keep looking at my suit case with all my jeans. I can't wait to leave the tights alone and rock my jeans.
  19. Don't worry @@BariatricBetty24, options really prepares everyone. They will give you lost of information the last 5 classes. I hated that i had to do it, but I'm glad i did. Maybe your mind will change. Don't look at it as, you will miss food and you will suffer. Look at it as, maybe, your tastes will change and you won't miss anything. I keep reading that the first couple of weeks a lot of people feel they made a mistake. I'm afraid of that moment.
  20. I knew when I stepped on the scale and it said 253. My highest weight EVER. I cried and told my mother that I needed to do something because I'm obviously not helping myself. She was very supportive and I made the appointment. I did research for 2 years before I actually asked my doctor about it. To be honest it still feels unreal even though I have a surgery date now. Maybe I won't react until the actual morning when I'm on the bed. Lol
  21. Oh wow.. I had my farewell meal 2 days ago. And yesterday lol.. Today, I finally got it together. I was in a 12 week class where I was weighed in every week. From my highest weight, I've lost 22 pounds.. And since I had my consultation this passed Friday, I've been going wild. I cheated 3 whole days because I'm going to miss all these tastes and flavors. I'm glad today I'm back on it. We have 8 days left! Ahh. What do you have ready? All I have in my duffel bag is a tooth brush and tooth paste. I need to go get a few things this week. Are you having trouble sleeping? My mind goes straight to the 24th. But I am most definitely excited this is finally happening.
  22. So excited and nervous! Is anyone else having surgery on my date? I would like us all in one thread to give our own experiences. It'll be great! We will all be in pain at the same time. [emoji1]
  23. Ohhhh yes... I was on a 12 week supervised diet plan. They weighed me every week. I had to eat 1200-1400 calories a day. Lately, I've been having the same as you're doing now. 2 shakes and a meal to make weight for my consultation. And yes I agree about the head aches. I get so moody. I really hope the head aches aren't this bad after surgery since we won't be eating a lot. I will be doing the 2 shakes and one meal up until surgery. Are you having an pre-op education appointment too? Mine is Tuesday
  24. Oh wow. They didn't put me on a pro op diet. He just told me not to eat anything 2 days before and absolutely nothing after 12am Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  25. Yes! So even with the delay I had, I got my date for 7 weeks after I graduated. I think you'll have a good chance getting your surgery by August 1 Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
