    Clear liquids and protein shakes

I Drink A Protein Drink Called "body Fortress"..has Like 35 Grams Protein Per Serveing, Which Is 2 Scoops, It's A Powder And I Mix It With Skim Milk, That Is Ok Dureing Liquid Stage, Which I Am Still On Myself, It Wont Hurt The Band At All And Kinda Curbs The Hunger When Needed Also...it's Really Good, Taste Like Chocolate Milk, They Have Other Flavors Also, But Chocolate Is My Favorite,..got It At Wal Mart, Like $7 For A Huge Container Of It...it's Really Great!

    Can hardly get anything in...

I to did the same thing you are doing now..I was banded 3-31...it started last Sunday, I was soo hungry but couldn't get hardly any liquids down due to feeling sooo bloated/full inside, up high...went a few days like that and ended up in the hospital with severe dehydrattion for a couple days...just keep trying to get it in anyway, sure don't want to go through what I did,..I'm still pretty weak and tired feeling now...just a quick note also, I beleive the full/bloated feeling is from gas still in there, I know mine is, yesturday I had gas pains in my chest and collar bone, so I'm sure that's exactly what it was/is...good luck!

    massive bloating 6 days out?

I was banded on 3-31 and STILL have ALOT of gas pain, actually more now than before,...walk..walk...walk and walk some more, that's all that will truely help, you have to pass it befor it gets better, I only know from when I had gall bladder surgery, same thing then....
  8. WOW! HOW ALL DOCS ARE SOOOO DIFF WHEN IT COMES TO PRE OP DIET!..mine saids NOTHING but clear liquid for two weeks then two weeks of mushies/soft, something you don't have to chew much/blended, then fifth week what i can tolerate...sooo different in deed!
  9. I am 9 days post op and STILL have quite a bit of gas pain! Not able to burp AT ALL, well a couple times, but that's all, if I could I could get rid of alot of it....everyone tells me after the band you will ALWAYS have problems and pain when trying to burp...UGGGGG
  10. :smile:I had my lap band surgery on March 31st...I'm two weeks post op right now...you always hear of all the good things after the surgery, well thought I would post some of the "down sides" of surgery, well MINE ANYWAY!..I woke up in HORRIBLE pain!! They couldn't control my pain with what they were giveing me so they changed the pain med to something MUCH stronger, which relieved the pain somewhat, but not all of course...I really wasn't expecting it to be that bad, after talking to alot of my friends that have had it and considering this was my 9th surgery I've had, four of them were back surgeries, so I thought this one couldn't be all that bad, which compared to the back surgeries it wasn't but still was in ALOT of pain...the pain was really bad first several days..had the surgery on a Monday and by Thursday was feeling ALOT better...I woke up , EMMEDIATELY, with HORRIBLE gas pains! Which I didn't expect either, usually it's like the third or fourth day before that really kicks in, but not this time! well by that Saturday night, I WAS SOOO SICK! I fought nasea the whole time I was in the hosptial, they were giveing me pheregen and sent me home on it...had to start takeing it again, SOOO SICK TO MY STOMACHE! By Monday, I was worse, called doctor and went to hospital, was admitted, EXTREMELY DEHYDRATED! Due to all the "fullness" I felt in the upper part of my stomach, like where the pouch is, and the band..couldn't get down much fluid at all, very little...anyway they ran alot of tests including another swollow study to make sure the band hadn't slipped, it was good, THANK GOD! Was scared I may have to have another surgery...they wanted to keep me another day, but I refused and came home yesturday, can get more rest here at home than in the hospital, that's for sure...I'm feeling much better today, thank goodness...I wasn't hungry the first three days, but now, I'M STARVING! My doctor is pretty strict with the diet I have to be on...first two weeks nothing but liquids...no jello, pudding, cream soups,..only clear liquids, which is killing me right now!!...thrid and fourth week, mushies like...cream soups, jello , puddings, blended oatmea, eclttt..anything that can be blended into a mushie...anyway, thought I'd share my experience with everyone...by the way, I'm still VERY sore inside, I have NO IDEA how people go back to work like in a week or so, there is NO WAY I COULD! Most that I've talked to say they are pretty much back to normal within a week or so, NOT ME!! Of course I have to the be difficult one...lol...anyhoo, just wanted to share and maybe it will help others out there...GOD BLESS, HOPE
