Hoping to schedule with Dr Altamirano for end of March-ish!!

I'm in Springfield! Just now researching the sleeve, and looks like I'll be going to Mexico due to not qualifying for insurance

Hey everyone! I'm waiting on insurance approval for my sleeve. Been doing a lot of research and am very excited to get a surgery date! However, I have a small fear- I LOVE to cook and bake with my kiddos. Every holiday it's our tradition to make homemade goodies! I'm afraid that I will lose the desire to do this after surgery. I've heard many say that they lose the desire to not only eat, but the desire to cook. What are your thoughts about this? Any post-op people want to share your experience with this? Thank you!

Hi RellaBelle, I haven't been sleeved yet but was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 9months ago. Went in for routine bloodwork and discovered that my thyroid isn't functioning at all. I attended a VGS seminar on Monday 12/7. I asked the surgeon if Hypothyroidism slows the weight loss process- he said not at all. In fact, 85% of his patients are diagnosed with Hypothyroidism! I was relieved to hear this! I submitted my paperwork Monday night and hopefully will be approved by my insurance soon. Good luck
