I'm 55 and had bypass January 11 not all has been roses but it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'll be glad to tell you anything you want to know. Good luck on your journey! -

Dr Bruce Long was my surgeon. I had my first post op yesterday. Lost 14 pounds since surgery. Have had no problems other than learning to slow down when I eat. The whole department at Carilion Clinic was great to me. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

So surgery was one week one day ago! What a difference a week can make. Came home after 3 days. I've had no real pain. Felt uncomfortable but that's about it. Still trying to get my energy back but this has been one of the best decisions of my entire life. It's going slow getting all my protein in with vitamins but this is a new way of life for. I will persevere!

I had my surgery Monday as well and all had the hernia repair just like you I get short of breath but I must say I've had no pain. I walk a lot though in my house and I think this really helped me. Good luck! -

This is my time I want to get comfortable with me first and I haven't been for years and then when that special someone comes along hopefully I'll be ready to say I've had weight loss surgery and he will support me or he's not the right one!
