  1. Hope you feel better soon. There's a nasty stomach bug going around my area that my grandkids gave to me last week. Luckily it passed fairly quickly since I was at a loss on what to do post op. Preop I would have eaten bananas, rice and toast for stomach upset. All things I tend to avoid now. Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm 7.5 months out and less than 10lbs from goal. I was averaging 8-10lbs a month up to about the 6 month mark when it slowed down. I lost 5lbs since my 6 month checkup, but I was also increased to around 900-1000 calories and 60 carbs a day at that appointment. I'm hoping slowing down like this to goal will help me figure out maintenance. Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App

  6. I just started shopping on Zulilly, first time I ordered 2 items just because I wasn't sure about sizing. Those were fine, so I just ordered several maxi dresses for the summer. This just might be a little addicting! Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App it's easy to get addicted to them! I buy a lot of my jean shorts there because at $14.99 or so I don't feel as bad when I blow through a size a month. They fit so well and when things don't fit so well, they make it right by you and I like that! Also love the reborn collection. I have several of their tunics in various colors, styles, and prints but they take like 4wks to get and sometimes I'm out of them before they arrive. That's how I felt about the maxis I ordered. At $7.99 & $9.99 each, I won't be too bothered if I only get one wear. Once I hit goal--- it's on lol Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App

  9. I made another run to Goodwill this weekend because my size 14 were starting to become way too loose. At my local thrift stores, the larger your size the harder it is to find stuff. Getting into size 12s , I had so many clothes to choose from that I got the luxury of being discerning and not just buying some pants because they were my size! And it might have been my wishful thinking, but the smaller size clothing just seemed to all have less wear. Everything I got looked brand new. I spent $30 and got 5 pairs of capris and 4 shirts! I really had to stop myself because as we all know, I might only be in size 12 for a couple of weeks lol
  10. I really enjoyed your blog! Glad you had a great time! You look great!!! Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App
  11. Over Memorial Day weekend, we took the grandkids on a quick weekend trip to Chicago and Brookfield Zoo. It was so nice being able to walk the entire day without pain in my back, knees and feet. Or numbness and tingling from my sciatica. I planted flowers in our flower beds for the first time in years since my issues above are largely resolved with my continued weight loss. My spouse and I are trying to coordinate schedules for a quick 4 day mini vacation to the Rivera Maya in July. We have gone there every year for the last 4 years, so there isn't any change to that. Except a much more comfortable trip on the plane and all around less misery in the heat due to my weight. I just started shopping for new swimsuits and had so many more options at this size!
  12. I have PCOS , I'm 5' 2" SW was 225 on 01/14/16 and I'm currently 177 at 3 months out. My NUT does not have me count carbs, however since we are insulin resistant, I have found my weight loss to be more consistent when I keep them at 50 or below daily. I am finally off thyroid medication, hbp pills and am no longer pre-diabetic which all go hand in hand with PCOS. My facial hair growth hasn't gone away completely but it has slowed down tremendously even though I am no longer taking spironolacton.
  13. Thanks @@OutsideMatchInside, I am in another group no weight loss related just a women's group and quite a few of the ladies have reported excellent results with the neoprene suits and albolene or even just saran wrap and albolene and I have been curious about it.
  14. Do you use Abilene with your suit? I've been thinking about trying that out, have heard it works well. Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App
  15. If you like anthropologie, I second Urban Outfitters that was suggested upthread. Also, H&M and Old Navy have some boho stuff.
  16. My first fitness goal is to walk a 10k on April 30th. My next on will be to run a 5k trying to decide what time frame to give myself. Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App

  18. While getting dressed a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a hard lump in the sternum area between my breasts. I had my 3 month post op visit coming up, so I figured maybe it was from my hiatal hernia repair and I'd ask about it at my post op visit. I went yesterday and told her about the bump. She said that wouldn't be from my hernia, so she'd better take a look at it. The hard bump is my sternum, I just had so much fat tissue there for so long that I had forgotten what it felt like. I practically had myself signed up for chemo after reading WebMD! The internet can be the devil lol Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App
  19. I decided to try on a pair of pants that used to be highwaters on me and was surprised that they weren't anymore. Was wondering if I had shrunk, but then I finally figured out that it's because my stomach isn't hiking up the length anymore! New York & Company has been my favorite place to shop since they were known as Lerner's. I had been heartbroken for the last couple of years when I couldn't fit anything from there anymore. Finally fit back into their sizes last month and have been to the store twice and have a couple of online orders on the way. This could be dangerous!

  21. I saw this article posted online yesterday and found it to be an interesting read: http://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/drinking-soda-after-wls-debunking-the-myth?utm_campaign=articles&utm_medium=newsfeed&utm_source=oh-social
  22. I have taken the same half and half stance like many others, I haven't lied to anyone but I don't necessarily volunteer the information either. My co-workers, family and close friends all know. My husband did request that I not tell anyone what type of surgery I was having because he is very private and he knows I'm an open book type person. I told him, if someone asks me I am not lying. I am not ashamed that I had surgery and I have found throughout life that it takes way more energy to lie than it does to tell the truth. I've only had a couple of people had ask me how I've lost the weight, and I jokingly answered " I cut out 80% of my stomach". However, I check in on FB at the gym most days since I have a couple of accountability partners/friends and I've also posted ( and pinned on Pinterest) tons of high protein/low carb recipes, work out routines, clean eating memes etc. I think most people just contribute my weight loss to that. Plus, I have been a yoyo dieter most of my adult life. So pretty much everyone who knows me is used to me losing a bunch of weight and slowly gaining it back. My cousin who knew I was having the surgery saw how much weight I lost on my pre-op diet and asked for a copy of it and now she does my pre-op diet one week a month lol
  23. Have you tried room temperature water? Water is the only thing I have temperature issues with and have found I can only drink it room temperature. If it's cold at all, it makes my stomach feel "crampy".
  24. Ditto UTI, at about 2 months post op I had gotten bad about getting all my 64oz of Water in daily. Hubby and I had intercourse and it was exactly as you described. I hadn't had a UTI in so long that I didn't figure out what was going on until I started having some lower back pain and blood in my urine. Went to MD and sure enough it ended up being a UTI. They said they are very common post VSG if you are not getting all of your water in.
  25. 192 was kinda bummed only a pound but considering I've been on vacation for the last week, I'll take it. I've never lost weight in vacation in my life, even if it was only a pound! Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App
