  1. Hi Everyone Well, the Dr took 1 cc out. When he pulled back on the syringe he said 1 cc just flew out of the band because of the pressure. The nurse said, "woe that´s a sign!" So am going to stay put for awhile as far as fills. We are planning a trip to Mexico first of December, and sure don´t want to feel miserable on vacation. Ok,well since we´re doing some before pictures, I´m going to fess up. The hospital where my surgery was done, asked me to do some marketing for them. This photo was taken end of July. I´ve lost about 10 pounds since. Her Scene Magazine Ad for 9-09.pdf
  2. Hi Everyone Well, it was damp and nasty today, but bundled up and went to the park. Got a mile in. My ankle started hurting at about 1/4 mile in, but then by 1/2 mile the pain was gone. SO hoping this means it´s improving. Monday night will be the test..ZUMBA. I LOVE my ZUMBA! My dogs were thrilled we were at the park. When we got back, Harry, the littlest started trembling, which he does when he has to go potty, but that wasn´t it. So put on their winter Sweaters, and they MUCH happier. Poor little mites! Here´s a photo of them. They are my babies:smile2: As far as my tightness, I can almost do 1/2 C now. So doing black Beans and Cottage cheese, so swelling is going down. Hooray! Thanks for the idea Indigo about high/low carbs. When everything settles down, will have to give it a try.
  3. Good Afternoon All, you sure sound like an encouraging bunch. Apple, thanks for responding, will take the time to back track and read through the posts of others will fill questions. Charlene-Thanks for the empathy. Bronchitis stuff just puts me behind everything. Stinking cough lasts so long. IndigoGirl-Well, I haven´t kept a food journal, but things had been going very well. I´ve lost 82 pounds since surgery. :thumbup:Then about 4 months ago hit a flat place. I was doing Zumba one evening a week, Jazzercie 2 times a week and walking 6 days a week. Then twisted my ankle mid August. Got a Cortizone shot, but after Zumba and Jazzercise now my ankle kills me. :cursing:Am sticking with the Zumba, and walking, but have missed the last two weeks because of the bronchitis. It´s cold and damp here right now, so can´t take my doggies for our walk. :blink:Need to find a gym, or mall where I can walk inside. Have been good about food choices thus far through the journey, just trying to make it over this hump, that´s why we were trying the fills. Believe me, I´m NOT a liquid diet girl! Love my solids =) Mrs Bubba-Our numbers are similar. We´ll have to keep an eye out for each other.:scared2: To everyone else, it sounds as though you are going through loads of life difficulties. Hope things will get better.:w00t:
  4. Hello,I´m Melinda, and am looking for some extra support. I used to be Lap Band Talk quite a bit, but then got busy with other things. Here´s what´s going on. Had a rough LAP-BAND®® morning yesterday. I had a fill last week, and am really tight, well yesterday had a coughing spell from the bronchitis, and vomited 3 times before getting to work. Things calmed down in the afternoon and evening. Talked to the Bariatric Nurse, because I´ve had 9.8 cc´s in my 14 cc band. I do fine with 9.8, can eat probably 1.5-2 cups of food. This makes my third time of trying to have a fill, and had trouble. I´ve had 10.2, TOO MUCH, 10.1 TOO MUCH. Now I´m at 10.0, and we´re going to see how I do now that it has calmed. She made an appointment for Thursday at 1:30, so if I´m not better, they will have to do another withdrawl, and I´ll just have to be satisified with 9.8 in my band. My body says NO MORE! So, have been able to keep down broth, Water and tea fine last night, and today have had 1/2 a Protein shake., so hoping it was just the coughing spell which triggered the problem. Has anyone been through this? Hoping I can stick with this fill, cause sure want to lose more weight. Thanks for listening.
  5. Hi Everyone I´ve had an up and down summer/fall. Went from 9.8 to 10.2, and that was bad, so they took me back to 9.6 for about 6 weeks, then tried 10.1, nope. Was coughing and when I talked it sounded like I needed to clear my throat. So back to 9.6 for another 6 weeks. Then to 9.8 and was able to eat too much. Now I´m at 10 since last Thursday. Was doing pretty good, but had bronchitis, and went into a coughing fit yesterday morning and vomited 3 times before going to work. :eek:It really hurt. So put a call in to the nurse, by the time she was able to make contact with me, things had calmed. It took most of the day to get down a 17 oz bottle of water, but by the evening I could do chicken broth s-l-o-w-l-y. Today much better than yesterday. On full liquids today. Hoping this will work for me, cause otherwise I´m going to have to go back to 9.8, and am afraid that´s all my body can tolerate. Anyway, hoping three times is the charm!
  6. Kinda surprised me about Daniel too. Really like Green team thus far. Still early days. Coach Mo is from nearby here, am hoping to see better things from him. A side note, when I weigh in each week, if I have a week where I gain a pound, my husband will say, "but at least you didn´t fall below the yellow line!" That´s the good thing about Lapband surgery, we never get voted off =)
  7. Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. We didn´t have Zumba this week, and boy could I tell the difference!
  9. Hi Everyone, well I´ve been kinda slow too. But was surprised when the hospital where I had the surgery has me to do a photo shoot! Thought you might like to see. CMH.pdf
  10. O dear! What did you find out? Any better now?
  11. It´s been awhile since posting, so here it goes...
  12. I´m about as uncoordinated as can be, and well just smile and move around! When first went, I thought, "hmmm I´m still the biggest girl here, BUT I´m having more fun than anyone!"
  13. I don´t have lymphaedma, but at one of the offices where I work the Therapist is a lymphadema specialist. Sometimes we see people for 1 1/2 hours everyday for 4-6 weeks.
  14. Finally found a Zumba Class. Tonight was my first class. Wow what a workout! Loads of fun! Now, wondering if I will be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning..
  15. Hey Apple, sounds like you´re too tight. Not sure about you, but when I get stressed or nervous my band gets tighter.
  16. Dear Kygie I´m so sorry about your assault, and for all the problems you have had to endure. Welcome back here, and please let us know if there is a way we can best support you.
  17. That is very interesting about your estrogen levels. We are so what are hormones dictact! Glad you came back too. We need all the support we can get!:w00t:
  18. Wow, do you know why you´re having your cycle so frequently? Sure hope you can get some relief. I know it´s disappointing when the scale doesn´t move much. I´ve had mono the last few months, so exercise has been about NIL. Keep us posted please.
  19. Well I´m half way there. The first photo was taken a week before my surgery, May 2008, the one with the green boots was taken first of March
  20. Have you talked to the DR or Bariatric Coordinator? It has taken me a long time to get good restriction. I have a 14cc APL.
  21. I had BCBS Federal Plan. It worked very well. Sorry I don´t have any info on Floyd.
  22. O dear. I feel your pain about the all the needle sticks. YUK. A bit worrisome about the paperwork being in the wrong chart. Hope you are recuperating well. It takes awhile to feel better. I was banded 5/27/08 at Clark, and have been very happy with them. Since surgery I´ve lost about 56 pounds. My loss isn´t as fast as some, but it has been pretty steady. Our Group is 2/17 at 6PM. Are you thinking of coming?
  23. Hi Joanne Checking in to see how your surgery went. I´m from New Albany as well. Write when you get a chance.
  24. OH! Just thought of something. I have been off pop since 1/16/08. That was the night I went to my PreSurgery Seminar. I was a total pop addict, if I can give it up, ANYONE can.
