    Anyone from colorado springs?

@@WitchySar parker adventist is a great facility. I'm sure the drive seems quite long since you are driving from Pueblo but it will be well worth it! I am glad that you are able to use medicaid. That seems about the right time frame. When I was looking at having surgery years ago, there was a gal in our group that had a hard time getting medicaid to pay. Maybe they have changed the requirements since then. Do you have any other medical factors contributing?

I am getting so excited for the surgery and a little nervous for the post-op. I want so badly to succeed at weightloss this time! Well we will be in it together!

@@PRINCESS2218 funny thing, my surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet stage. Just 2 weeks of low carb. How are you doing in your preparations for surgery? Did you have to take classes?

@@2tired2befat sorry for the delayed response. My notifications don't seem to be coming through. I never thought about watching some videos on youtube, what a good idea. I have been to seminars many year ago but because I am paying out of pocket, the requirements are not there for me. I am getting very excited about my surgery. In some ways it has been a 7 year dream that is finally coming true. I have started trying to get all the enentials for the puree section of the first couple weeks.i want to make sure that mentally I am ready and that I have all the supplies. Have you gotten all your supplies yet? How long will you be in Mexico recovering? Feel free to private message me too. I'd love to get to know you more and become support buddies since we are so close in surgery dates!
  8. I am trying to grasp at what magnitude I should begin with in exercise. I don't know if I should just begin with walking or...? Any advice on your work out routines after surgery would be great!

  14. Hey everyone, sorry I have been MIA. We turn our trip into a mini vacation since I could not have the surgery. Looks like I won't be having it for some time as we will have to save up for plane tickets and all the jazz again, Being it was we were paying cash for the surgery. My husband suggested maybe trying to go through insurance and doing in our home country. How long y'alls waiting period for the surgery through insurance? @@jlvolkma I am happy to hear that you have great news! I. So excited for you! From what I understand about the liquid diet, it has to do with the size of your liver. If it is enlarged the liquid diets helps shrink the liver to give extra room for the surgeon in the abdominal cavity.
  15. Hey everyone, I have bad news. my surgery is delayed. Went to go in for the pre-op admission to find our b ank cards not working. turns out during our travel to the hospital where i am having my procedure the fraud department flagged our account and shut it down. so i have to travel back home and wait for another available slot and deal with the bank. i am so bummed.
  16. I am so excited to find this onlione forum. being overseas for my husbands work makes it hard to connect with many people! I am having surgery December 3rd as a 30th birthday present. I am nervous and anxious all at once!
  17. Jenna, It could a test specific to my surgeon. I worry so much about saggy skin. I know the faster you lose weight the higher risk you are for more excess skin. Wonder if I will have have saggy booty skin. That would make me feel strange. Thoughts I've often wondered... will I be just as uhappy with my skin and I was my weight...? Ughs.
  18. @@cookies_queen I have had some worries about how my weight will come off too. I primarily carry my weight in my legs and butt and I am also petite. Welcome to our group!
  19. Jenna, the dopamine test is the alternative to running on a treadmill stress test. The hook me up to an ecg and and inject dopamine to induce activity related "stress". Measures the healthiness of my heart.
  20. Awesome, that will give me a rough time fame to shoot for! thank you
  21. @innersurfergirl swimming is definitely an exercise I want to get into. Having a pool here on site makes it a prime choice, plus it is so good for your body! How many weeks would you say you were at when you could get in the pool?
  22. @@jess9395 i a 5'4 and 370lbs. I carry a lot of weight in my legs and butt. I will definitely check out 'big lady yoga' sounds like fun. @@Dub I am glad to hear that walking is a big part of the first steps. I know that I am going to want to do it the right way as to not injure my body but I also want to push myself. Thank you for sharing your workout so far.
  23. @@jess9395 I had looked I to the couch to 5k when I was 70lbs less than I am now, but running is very hard for me as big as I am. Thank you!
  24. @@Wanda I am sure that for some people sure can have it pain. I would think that some pain is normal. What scale would you say the pain is at, between 1 and 10? Might consider calling your surgeon. I'm sorry you are having pain post op. Please let us know you're ok.
  25. Thanks for sharing your demensions. I am 5'4 and 370. Looks like the tree of us will be a great match up for support! @@jlvolkma I had the upper g.i. done a few weeks ago. Never had one before.
