  1. I have what I need for the hospital packed (or I hope I have everything!) Finishing up work so others at my office can continue my tasks. Just waiting for scheduling to tell me what time to be there in the morning. Surgeon states normal inpatient time is 30 hours if no complications. That means home Friday afternoon or evening. I have decided (LOL) not to have any complications. Wow....almost there!! Am so stoked. How am I going to sleep tonight??
  2. 2 more pre-op days then surgery. Absolute crushing fatigue today. All I wanted to do was nap. Hope tomorrow I have a bit more pep. Still need to pack! Since I am off caffeine 3 weeks now, and was told to avoid until at least onto soft foods, what can I do for some energy?
  3. November 19 for me. 2.5 more "pre-op" days and then onto surgery. Just delving into your story. Very inspirational indeed!
  4. Frozen Jello worked okish. But still stuck to the trays too much. Anyone else also diabetic? My primary reason for WLS is to hopefully put diabetes into remission. Ever since I have been insulin dependent, when I exercise, my blood sugar will spike. Not unusual to jump from 95 before a walk. Walk an hour. Then my blood sugar reading will hit 300s or low 400s. Seems as I convert stored fat to sugar to use for energy, my body overreacts.
  5. Jello in ice cube trays didn't work too well. Mostly just stuck to the tray. The batch was two trays so put the other in the freezer. Hoping for better turn out. It's almost Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. That's when I will freak out I guess.
  6. Hope they come out of the trays ok, but had the idea to make a batch of SF Jello and using ice cube trays to make smaller "servings." We shall see in another hour or so.
  7. Made I think a big mistake with last "meal" of the day. I forgot to take the Multivitamin and Calcium citrate. Sipped the shake. Worked on laundry. Then it dawned on me that I forgot the pills. Took them with 16 ounces of Water. Went to bed an hour later. Woke up and hour later and made it to the bathroom just in time to hurl. Won't make that mistake again. Uggg!!
  8. brandeebee - you are lucky to be out before surgery. I say sleep all you want! I have to work until 5pm the night before. Dunno how I will sleep. And forget sleeping in a hospital. It is so noisy at all hours and the 2am vital signs check sure doesn't help!
  9. meganliz0824 - I was told only Tylenol for me too. Had to go buy some as I don't normally us it. It doesn't seem to help me for headaches or aches/pains. I haven't discussed post-op pain meds with the surgeon, other than to tell him I am allergic to codeine. I was told 1 or 2 nights inpatient, so I guess I'll cross that bridge when the time comes. I did buy some liquid adult Tylenol to have on hand.
  10. I don't think I could handle a party like you did. You must be super strong! I was able to arrange to work remotely during the pre-op period. Told my boss I'd be cranky. Little did I know... It's just after midnight where I live. It's the 15th officially. I can't believe it. 4 more days?? Hubby and I went to a big warehouse store and stocked up on Protein shakes, SF Jello, and broth. With Thanksgiving being around the corner, they had a big sale on chicken broth. Are you going to feel up to a big family dinner this year. I bowed out of invites from friends and family last month. Just don't want to be tempted, yanno?
  11. Hello meganliz0824! Another November 19 club member! Are you doing a pre-op diet too? Any headaches or moodiness if so? I so wish I could take Advil. My legs and feet are sure feeling the walk we did. I have a large dog and he walked with me (and my hubby). I am taking a warm bath to ease my aches. Dog and hubby both sound asleep in the living room, and both snoring. Hahaha!
  12. Hey brandeebee! Nice to meet another November 19 patient! Frustrating to me is that the main reason I am doing the surgery is diabetic complications. Today I walked 4.6 miles! And only had Water in that time. And only dropped 36 points. What is the point? Only 3 shakes at 160 calories each and 4 carbs each. Based on the walking, I burned over 2000 calories more than I took in. Uggghh! On the up side, headache gone, not feeling foggy anymore. But still kinda grouchy. Best wishes brandeebee!
  13. Headache gone thank goodness. Still feel foggy and irritable. Better without the headache! 5 days to go now!
  14. I quite caffeine 2 wks ago. Why the headache I wonder.
  15. I started my journey in May. I did the 6 required medically supervised dietitian visits. Chest xrays, psychological clearance, bloodwork, EKG, etc. Got my approval through insurance 11/3/2015. Scheduled sleeve surgery for 11/19/2015. Today I had my last visit with my surgeon. Today I started my one week pre-op diet. 3 Protein shakes per day and all the Water, Crystal Light, SF Jello I can take. Been grouchy, irritable, and a splitting headache all day. 236 was my starting weight in May. Today 228. Hope tomorrow is better!
