  1. One thing I noticed about your ticker is that you are half way to your goal! You have made incredible progress! That alone is worthy of praise! I could only hope to lose half my weight in 6 months! Unless your blood work comes back weird, keep on keeping on! I know its hard but remember worrying will not help you one bit. In fact, it is counterproductive to meeting your goal! My gut says you need to know that you are worthy....
  2. Anyone else fighting the "I want to eat everything I can get my hands on" blues?? Had a small binge episode yesterday. Made me realise that I HAVE to get this surgery. All week I've been thinking, maybe I can just drinks shakes like I used to and get this weight off. Then, boom, one uncontrollable binge while no one is looking. It wasn't that bad, but it was still a binge. Thanks for "listening" as no one else really understands.
  3. Try drinking more Water to help with the headache. I used to fast "back in the day" and the extra water usually helped. Have you stopped drinking caffeine? That can give you a terrible migraine! I'm on day 2, because I didn't get the letter telling me to start until Monday. I am just ready to get this over with. Feel so bad for those that have had to go through the rigorous process of dealing with insurance. Gotta be rough.
  4. I got a letter in the mail yesterday telling me to do 3-4 protein shakes and 1 meal (meat&veggie) a day until the day before. Clear liquids the day before. Still nervous...my date is 11/9.
  5. How exciting! @@mokt @@aprilarnetta @@Mom26 my surgery is in Tyler, which is where hubby I both work. I have told a couple of people at work, my bff, and of course hubby & our son. I went in for the first visit a few weeks ago and decided Monday to call and schedule. I'm self pay so there are not any hoops to jump through. Just shell out an exordinate sum of cold hard cash. I go in 11/2 for pre-op and to the doc's office. I'm not sure about my pre-op diet. I guess I will find out then. I'm excited to have 3 others headed to the "losers bench" on the same day. Just curious, are any of you guys "low BMI"? I am, and because of that, I probably won't tell anyone else that I am having surgery. "Can't you just diet or walk?" Grrrrr
  6. So glad to see others with a low BMI. I have fought my weight most of my life and finally threw in the towel on Monday of this week and called and got scheduled for the sleeve on 11/9. The people I have told can't believe that I would do something so drastic. Having to wear a CPAP and watching my blood pressure get higher and higher is enough for me. I'm miserable and have been for years. So tired of the yo-yo diets and then "failing" at every single diet. There is a healthy person in me, somewhere. Thanks for sharing your journeys! I feel much better now!
  7. Hey guys I'm in Texas and scheduled for November 9th. I also have a low BMI. I don't go back to the doctor until 11/2 so if they put me on a preop diet it will only be a week. I'm so excited to meet people that are going through the same at the same time!
  8. I'm scheduled for 11/9 also. Don't know if I'm more scared or excited!
  9. Just got my date this week. 11/9 It will be cool to share this experience with people that are in the same place!
