I'm not a doctor, but my father had pancreatic cancer. From what I learned about the location of the pancreas, it's difficult to get to, so I would be inclined to think it wasn't affected during surgery. That being said, our bodies are going through so much during this time...get it checked and I hope your numbers come down soon!

My surgery is on the 10th as well. I have to admit I've eaten a handful of nuts a few times. I miss texture on the liquid diet. The crunch of the nuts was music to my ears...and mouth.

I am having revision surgery next Tuesday - 11/10 - and it's covered by my insurance - Cigna. My band has a leak and hasn't worked in 2 years. During that time I beat myself up thinking that I was losing my mind because I was so hungry and could eat more than I knew I should. My doctor had to write a letter to my insurance company and must have made one hell of an argument on my behalf. I was fully approved and scheduled within 2 weeks. Hopefully your doctor can make a good case to your insurance company and get it covered for you. Good luck and keep me posted.

I too am one day 3 of the diet and struggling. I'm drinking the EAS premixed shakes and then mixing some powder my husband has with almond milk. It's going to be a long 12 days , but we can do. The 10th will be here before we know it.
