  1. Yes, I am going to a seminar by Dr. Jack Rutledge on Nov. 22. Hopefully I can have another kind of surgery. Edna
  2. Hi, I saw Dr. Rose and he wanted me to have an upper GI, and from the results of that he said that I was not a good candidate for lap band, so it ain't going to happen. Edna
  3. Welcome Wendy, congratulations on your surgery and insurance approval, I am getting ready to go for my consultation and hoping that my insurance will pay too, which they should, I have diabetes, reflux, and a host of other problems that this surgery could aleviate. Good luck, keep us posted. E dna
  4. Hi, most insurance will pay for the surgery if you have a letter of medical necessity, which I do. I have diabetes, high bp, high cholesterol, and a hiatal hernia, so I am hoping that I will be approved. Edna
  5. After lap band surgery how soon do you start drinking your 64 ounces of water? I see that right after you just sip a little bit or suck on ice chips, when do you get up to drinking alot? Edna
  6. Hi, I am going for my consultation with the surgeon tomorrow, Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers that he will accept me as a patient, and that I will get insurance approval. I only have about 80 pounds to lose, but to me that is alot when you get out of breath just bending over to tie your shoes, and get out of breath just walking up one flight of stairs. Don't get me wrong, I have sympathy for anyone overweight, and I am supportive of anyone that wants to get help with their weight. Edna
  7. Thanks for the article, I am printing it out for future reference. Edna
  8. I guess I could get used to it if I try, I will get one from vending machines until I find one I like. Thanks for the replies. Edna
  9. Hey, just read the post, If I can get used to having 2 metal rods, screws, and 2 metal cages in my body, I think I can get used to having a band around my stomach. Edna
  10. I have read that gatorade is good to drink for the post op patients. I tried the pink lemonade flavor, and I don't like it, what flavors are good. I would appreciate any input on what I can drink, I know I will have to stop my diet cokes, and I'm trying to cut down.:think Edna
  11. Hi Trish, I saw my family doctor last week and have a letter of medical necessity, so I am hopeful that my insurance will approve me. I see Dr. Rose on Oct. 4. I went to the seminar with Dr. Ponce, but he is not in my insurance network, so I chose Dr. Rose. I wish you the best of luck. Edna
  12. Hi Heather, are you glad that you had the surgery? I am going to Dr. Rose because he is in my insurance network, can't afford to go out of network, anyway, if I am approved and can get this done this year, I won't have to pay any out of pocket, since I met my out of pocket maximum with my back surgery. So, hold a good thought for me, OK? Edna
  13. Hi Heather, nice to meet you, I live in Flintstone, and I don't work now, I worked for 16 years as a CNA in nursing homes, until I messed up my back, and had to have surgery this past Feb. now that I am feeling better from that, I hope to get the lap band surgery and feel even better. Have you been banded yet? I have read posts by you, but I don't recall if you have had surgery yet. I need all the help and support that I can get. Thanks, Edna http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/3;10724;127;0;0/c/-3/t/-83.5/k/5ddd/weight.png
  14. Hi, are there any people from Chattanooga or the surrounding area here? I am hoping to get banded in the near future, and would like to hear from others in the area. I have a consult with Dr. Walter Rose on Oct. 4. http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/3;10724;127;0;0/c/-3/t/-83.5/k/5ddd/weight.png
