  1. I saw that too and was wondering about it! I am currently using vitamin patches...
  2. Yeah-that's what he prescribed along w/Nexium. Haven't started them yet cause waiting for prior auth for the Nexium for insuran e since Mon.
  3. Wow!!!! You must've worked hard-you look fab, Congrats!!!
  4. I switched back to liquids from puréed about 3 days ago for the same reasons. Today saw the surgeon who wants to wait on endoscopy. Switched a few of my meds and wants me to try that for a month to see if it improves [emoji32] I hope it does cause the pain is awful!
  5. I've only experienced once or twice since my surgery on 9/14-happened with 2% milk and another from a protein shake...
  6. Just tried the berry flavor over the weekend. It was better than I expected but I would've preferred to try a different flavor if Walmart had any others. I wish I could mix it a bit with some sparkling water or something....it had less of a protein flavor than I was expecting which was a plus. I didn't like them enough to buy them again though
  7. pdallariva-I had my surgery @ Cleveland Clinic on 9/14....have surgeon f/u tomorrow and I'm concerned I may have a stricture too. Not to the point where I vomit but now getting close, food just sitting on what feels like my sternum. Makes it hard to take deep breaths and severe pain until food "goes down" or I have to " bring it back up" I'm worried that my surgeon is going to think I'm over reacting or something but it's pretty painful and I hope he recommends some testing. I hope you get yours sorted out ASAP!!
  8. Thank you both-it helps to hear from others!!
  9. Oh my gosh-I wish I had seen this post 20 minutes ago!!! I'm having the same issues and had GBS on 9/14. I was really getting worried that it didn't "work" -so glad to hear I'm not the only one. I love this forum, so much support and info!!
  10. Hi everyone-had GBS on 9/14, everything went great & I'm healing nicely. I couldn't be more relieved or grateful as I know many others have had to struggle with complications right from the start. At the risk of sounding "whiney" - I am a bit worried though. I have been able to tolerate all full fluids and am planning on starting puréed soon. My worry is that I not getting this "full" feeling I was counting on as part of our great tool in the initial stage. Obviously I know it's up to me to make the right life style changes etc but I was really counting on having this new boundary to help me through the initial stages as a prompt/reminder....I of course have let my imagination and anxiety run wild that the surgery didn't actually work for me and that I will feel no physical differences as I start to change phases. Thanks for listening, just worried now that I won't have the limitations that I know I will need [emoji26] Anyone else experience this? Is this "normal" in the first few weeks? Thanks again!
  11. Way to go!!! I bet you feel as good as you look!
  12. My highest weight Im not really sure of but I was in a size 28 pants (size 22 now) Now my weight is 280.....lost & gained lost & gained over the years. I see my PCP on the 19th to start my 6 mo supervised diet as required by my insurance....
  13. @@Stace_wow, seeing my PCP on 11/19 & will start my 6 mo supervised diet then
  14. @Renkoss-I'm in Cleveland as well, which facility are you getting your procedure done at? I'm at the beginning of my journey too & am getting ready to have my 1st PCP visit for supervised 6 mo diet. I'm REALLY hoping I will be able to have surgery in April
  15. About 1/2 hr west of Cleveland OH
  16. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!! I look forward to being able to support people on their journeys as I've seen so many of you do!!
  17. So I think I can "officially" call myself "pre-op". I met with a surgeon last week who recommended gastric bypass. I've toyed with idea for years and was inspired by an old high school classmate sharing her journey on FaceBook over the last 18 months. I started last year trying to get approved by my insurance (who does not cover WLS) for issues w/hiatal hernia, GERD, acid reflux. fast forward about 8 months (with still no luck)I sign up for my annual benefits for open enrollment & what do I see?? Starting Jan 1st UHC is covering bariatric surgery!!! I am over the moon! My weight has been an issues since puberty so I AM nervous about just being "smaller" in general as it will be such a different experience! I am positive that I will use this tool to continue healthy changes! I am at the very beginning of my journey, I see my PCP next month & will start the 6mo physician followed diet then. I won't be able to see the psychologist or nutritionist until after Jan1 I want to say I have read so many posts that 1. Affirm I am making the right choice 2. Reinforce I am not alone in this 3. Show how supportive this community is! So thank you in advance!!
