  1. Hi to all of the "regulars" and "Hi" to the "new ones". I just got back from RI. I had a great time with family. I had a new conversation with my insurance and they have paperwork now, that I asked Maritza to send. They said it will be 10 to 14 days for a decision. I cannot wait, as long as the answer is, YES. If not, I don't want to hear it. I am considering not going to Florida in case I can have the surgery during the month I would have been away. We had plans for so long, I was supposed to be done by now. But with the problems and delays I had, here I am. So, I hope I can have it sooner than later. Talk to you later. Nana
  2. Hi Sherry, I never thought of that! I had tried to reach Medicare but there was too long a wait. Since they said if the drinks worked out they would try to get me in before my trip, I thought they had sent in to both insurances. I had to leave a message on Maritza's machine, so I will have to see what she says. Thanks for the idea. I won't be "talking" for a while on this sight. Off to RI Thanks again. Nana
  3. Hi all, I am about to go to RI for a week and I decided to call my secondary insurance to see what was going on with them. They said they don't have any request for surgery for me.:phanvan I called and left a message with Maritza to please send the paperwork through again. Here I was hoping to get surgery in before a March trip to Flroida, and if I hadn't called, they wouldn't be aware that I am waiting. I have to say that I have had just about every hill and mountain through this process. I am so glad I am going to RI to visit with family and "cool off". I really will have to wait until after Florida I guess. I had to "vent" before I left. Thanks for listening. Nana
  4. Hi all, I am doing fine. Whey drink was OK and I tried Proteidiet drink it was fine. Today I tried powdered goat's milk (I ordered that so that I would still have it after surgery). No matter what I put in it I couldn't cover the taste. It is awful! I don't know if I should try more or leave it alone. I haven't heard about insurance approval yet. Getting anxious. Medicare should OK it but my secondary is Commonwealth Indemnity??? Everyone sounds good. Rainbow, congrats about the picture. I can't even do the ticker at the bottom. On Sat. I am going to RI to visit family again. I won't be "talking to you" from the 4th til the 13th. Glad everyone is good. I am sorry Kay about the death in the family. That is sad. Nana
  5. Hi All, I just wanted to say a quick Hi and tell you that the whey drink was OK. I can't believe it. And I ordered the drinks that were non dairy and the goat's milk to try. So, I might even have a variety. How is everyone else doing? Talk to you soon. Nana
  6. Hi everyone (again), I talked to June today, and, Sherry, she said I could go ahead and order the protidiet and some goat's milk powder (to be mixed). Boy, do I feel better having some more options. I have to wait a couple of days to try the whey, I am still itchy. And by then these will come, and I will have alternatives. Thank you, thank you. I will let you know how it goes. Dez, how is your finger? John, how is the diet? Bye for now. Nana
  7. Hi All, Sherry, Thank you for the protidiet tip. I looked it up. I don't know where the protein comes from, but it sounds good. I will tell June for sure. Dez, I am interested in the soup, too. Sirena63, I am also allergic to eggs, (sad), but thanks for the other tips. John, I cannot do the Ticker thing either. I have it set up on their site, but don't know how to transfer it. I can't cut and paste for one thing. Frustrating!! :phanvan Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. Nana
  8. Hi Deb, Most protein drinks are dairy or soy. I am allergic to both. June broke down dairy even further. They have whey drinks and another product called caseinate (which I have never heard of). I tried the caseinate first figuring it so remote maybe I would be able to tolerate it but, no, I had the reaction I mentioned. Now, I am allmost afraid to try the whey. Does it figure that the caseinate is THE part of dairy I am allergic to, or will the whey bother me also. I gave myself a rest today to clear my eyes. I hope to try the whey tomorrow. But a hive showed up also. So, now, I have to wait for that to clear. Like I said it is enough to be discouraging. I even looked up goat's milk (yuk) on line. I will suggest this to June. If I can take it, will she OK it???? Leave it to me to come up with problems. Thanks for your interest. Nana
  9. Hi Rainbow, I was feeling a little down today, but after hearing about your finger, I have no complaints. I am sorry to hear that, it sounds soooooooooo painful! The reason I am a little down, I started the protein drinks on Sunday, and, as expected, I had a reaction. I will give it a days rest and try another kind. My eyes became red and itchy and I got a migraine. I am worried. I looked up goats milk on the web today. I will have to ask June about it to see if it would be acceptable. Hope you feel better soon Deb, and Hi to everyone. Nana
  10. Hi John, Great news!! Your on your way now.:biggrin1: That is wonderful. Keep us posted. Keep us updated. Nana
  11. Hi cheri52, I have a few things to overcome. I am allergic to the ingredients in most liquid protein. The nutritionist told me about some that have a whey base and another base that I could try, which I am about to do. Also, I am waiting for insurance approval. If this all happened before mid Feb. I could be done then., otherwise my husband had made plans for a March trip to Florida. The plans were made assuming I would be done by now. So, in that case, I would have to wait until early April. To me, the sooner, the better. But I have to wait and see. I don't know anything about doctors on the Cape. The psychologist at Beth Israel did say there was a support group on the Cape. I could get details if you want. I find this forum a big help. What are your issues??? Nanaviv
  12. Hi SherryW, Thanks for the eating suggestions. This is a worry for me. To Cheri52, I am in Dennis, not toooo far. I'm waiting to be banded, too. Going to Beth Israel. Good Luck to you. Keep us informed Nanaviv
  13. Hi All, One of the questions I wanted to ask last Sat. at the get together was how often do you girls have trouble with being sick or PBing. I was at the end of the table with the newly banded so I couldn't hear a lot of conversation at the other end. I read your report Chris. I am glad you usually don't have trouble. What about the others???
  14. To Kelsey, Good luck! Let us know how you are doing. Nana
  15. To AAAMom, Thanks for organizing our get together. It was great. To Every one who went, great meeting all of you. Thanks for all of the honest info. It was a lot of fun. I hope we do it again. Nana
