  1. I'm lucky cause my insurance is through my work which is at the health organization I'm having all this with. My surgeon isn't "with" the organization so I have to pay the in-network fees for him but everything else is covered.
  2. Thanks guys! I'm excited. After a trip to a theme park this weekend it just sealed my thoughts that I need this surgery for my daughter. Hard to fit on rides with her or when riding with her felt like lap belt was so far from her she'd fall. Plus I didn't fit on one of my fave coasters I wanted to cry. My doctor keeps in constant touch, opened up appointments for the multidisciplinary team I need to see as he's shoot for a mid- to late January surgery. So close yet so far. I joined these forums for resources and y'all are so friendly. Excited to be here. Thanks guys!
  3. Hi all. Looking for a support forum and ended up here. I've decided to have gastric bypass and know support is key in any major change in life. A bit about me: I'm 30 years old and a nurse in Chicago. Have a loving husband and a beautiful 4 yr old daughter. They are the reason I'm going through with the surgery- I want to be healthy and be around. No surgery date set yet. About to start the required 90 days of multidisciplinary care set by my insurance (Aetna) before they'll pre-cert me. Hoping for a February date. I'm blessed to work for a hospital with a great program and great insurance benefits to allow this to happen. Just need to keep my job So hello! I hope to post quite a bit and get to know people
