  1. Thank you for this article. Since I had surgery to improve my health and give me a chance at a longer healthier life, I appreciate those words from someone who lost a huge amount of weight and was worried at that time only of the weight. Since surgery, the weight I've lost is gratifying to say the least, and of course now I want more. But, with that said, I must never lose sight of the real reason I had surgery; and that was to improve my health and hopefully get rid of the issues I have/had, and live a longer life.
  2. I'm drinking a crystal light iced tea with lemon right now! Easier to get fluids in this way rather than just Water. Never been a huge water drinker; unless it's really hot and I'm sweating, but even then it has to be really cold.
  3. I was told to stay away from caffeine because caffeine is a diuretic, and for every 8 oz of caffeine you drink, you must replace with 8 oz of Water. Unless you are more than 6 months to a year out from surgery, I am wondering why you would drink caffeine.
  4. I had bypass surgery 10-1/2 weeks ago. I drank Crystal Light after surgery. I bought the single serving packets, and I believe they are made with Truvia (Stevia and Erythritol). Crystal Light can be used after surgery. I've never heard of it not being okay. Congrats on your surgery!
  5. There is a brand of non-dairy ice cream called So brand and they make ice cream with Cashew Milk, Coconut Milk, Almond Milk. It tastes wonderful, and my pouch handles it quite well. Also, Klondike No Sugar Added Krunch and Plain bars. So far so good.
  6. Wonderful article. This is something I will definitely heed as I deal with "head hunger" quite a bit. Thanks for posting.
