  1. Had my sleeve on 12/21/2016, also had gallbladder and stones removed. It's been hard, I can't lie but today 4.5 weeks out and I can finally say I feeling better. They also but a stent in, not due to leak but a blockage, so it has to come out a six weeks. Honestly, I don't think it has caused me much trouble but I am dreading getting it out. Has anyone had a stent removed after six weeks and what was your experience. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi my recovery is very slow, I was sleeved on 21/12/2015, I also had gallbladder and gallstones removed at the same time. The day after surgery I had to have a stent inserted due to a blockage. So I have now entered week four, I am tired and exhausted and weak. I don't get much food down and sleep is difficult because with the stent I have to sleep upright. Although I am booked off until 22nd January 2016 I decided to back to work, thinking I should pull myself together and stop wallowing in self pity. Has anyone else had these problems and how long did full recovery take? Would you advise getting B12 shot.
  3. Hi I am in South Africa, gallbladder removal and sleeve on the 21st December 2015. Good Luck, I am lying in the bed now waiting for the operation. It will all be over by this time tomorrow. May the Lord bless us and keep us all safe xxx
  4. Good Luck to you as well, I hope it goes well. Let's keep in touch.
  5. OMG! I am so scared but yet excited. Anyone else having surgery on Monday?
  6. Had the band out in May 2015 and went to see surgeon today, he cautioned as an ex band patient there is more likely of leak, and it could get complicated because of scare. As a self pay I can just scrape the money together for the sleeve but I can't afford complications. On the positive all X-rays results good except I have gallstones and lots of them that I didn't know about. Oh my goodness what shall I do?
  7. i know just what you mean, I lost 130lbs with band, and it slipped. I had it out in May 2015 and I have gained back 35lbs, I want the sleeve but I am self pay and I just don't know what to do.
  8. Hi Fatty, what made you take the step band to sleeve? I had my band out in May 2015 and I am gaining weight like crazy but I just can't make my mind up to go the surgery route again.
  9. Hi does anyone have any regrets having a sleeve after having the band removed? I want to have the sleeve but I am so uncertain and still trying to research everything. My band had to be removed because of problems.

  11. Thank you for all the replies, all the things which I mentioned happened with the band, so I was just wondering if it would be the same with the sleeve. I just can't make up my mind if to go ahead with it. I hate being (who does like being fat) but when I had the band and got so sick, I went down to 103lbs I couldn't drink even water. So I am scared that if something goes wrong you can't reverse the sleeve. At least the band came out and I was perfectly fine accept that it came out in May 2015 and I have gained back 35lbs
  12. OK so my husband has finally agreed that I can have the sleeve and we will pay for it. Hard decision and he told me he even thought about leaving me. Let me explain, so we paid for the balloon, I lost weight and put it back. Then the band lost weight (all of it) now put back 20lbs the band failed. I want to go ahead with the sleeve but here is what I did not want; Reflux Can't sleep on my side Sick with everything I eat Can't eat chicken Can't eat bread Never have a cheese and tomatoe sandwich Can't eat fruit Can't eat vegetables Not much fun at a restaurant Can't drink alcohol Should I really go for the sleeve? Will these symptoms come back???
  13. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your views. I live in fear of getting fat again, life has been so much better for me being slim. I am also just turned 60 and apparently you need only 1500 calories a day to maintain. Without restriction I can't achieve this.
  14. I had a gastric band after much deliberating on the 21 March 2013. All went well in the beginning and as far as weight loss is concerned it was a success, I went from 220lbs to 104lbs in two years. Then the band slipped (or at least that what I think happened) had to have it removed. I had it removed on 11th May 2015. Since then I put on 30lbs, at this weight I am still ok and within normal range although I do feel very fat. I want to have the sleeve, I will have to pay for it myself and I am wondering if the doctor will do it as I am with normal BMI at 25. I am very desperate and see no point in waiting until I have put all the weight back on. Is there anyone out there with similar situation.
