  1. I'm 3 months post-op and I have an issue eating lettuce. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Lettuce

Agreed. Especially if it's not iceberg. I have to be honest, I get a little tired around here of hearing people dismiss lettuce (and other leafy vegetables) as a useless waste of space and acting like it's some kind of junk food. I eat salads pretty regularly (I'm 7 months out), though now I load them with Protein, and I usually go for ones made with mixed greens and spinach. I guess I could eat nothing at all but protein like some people claim to do, but I would prefer to be able to have regular bowel movements. I'm just silly like that, I guess. I don't eat lettuce and I have a BM every day.... Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I have trouble with any raw veg8oiiietables post-op. I am 16 months out and they still cause me to have super uncomfortable gas and burping. Cooked veggies I can handle just fine. Having BM is not problem for me, but lettuce does not offer enough to me to have the pain that it brings on. Everyone is different and our bodies know what we need and can handle. I was just curious as to how others tolerated it...I apologize for hijacking your post and taking it off topic. I'm apparently having a bad day emotionally. Of course if it causes pain to you, it is not worth eating! You are fine, hun. I think we all have them days I love lettuce, I love salads, so I'm kinda sad that I can't have a nice big salad

    Lettuce

I have had it twice and both times my chest hurt so bad I thought I was having a heart attack. So, I have swore off lettuce (for now). As you said, no nutritional value, so I'm OK not having it. Someone mentioned my gallbladder, but I'm not sure
  9. I was sleeved 10/9 and down 50pds. I have learned, no lettuce what so ever for me, lol. I had a hard time adjusting to the full feeling, I kept waiting to feel it in my stomach, but I feel it more so in my chest. I just learned that and thank God. I was throwing up almost everything I would eat, ugh

    Frustrating :(

I stopped losing at about 2 1/2 weeks, (sleeved 10/09/15) but I started back. Stay off of the scale and watch how your clothes fit. You may not be losing pounds at the moment, but you can be losing the inches. I have lost 50 pounds so far
