  5. I am relieved that I am not alone in the way I feel. It's amazed me how noisy everyone has been. I've been walking a lot at work, I have that luxury so I take advantage of it. I cannot tell you how many times I'm asked, "why are you walking", "are you walking to loose weight", "are you walking to be healthier". It's crazy!!!! I hate all the attention! My grandfather saw me for the first time since surgery, he has no clue, but he immediately said " oh you've lost some weight, you can't tell me a doctor didn't have something to do with it either". I refused to give him that satisfaction!!!! I told him it's amazing what new eating habits and exercise will do.

  10. I was sleeved September 8th, my overall starting weight was 300 pounds and I'm currently down to 219. I know I am super proud of this loss. BUT, last week one of my customers ( has no clue of my surgery) asked how much weight I've lost. I told her I had no clue and that I only go by my clothes. I am embarrassed to say how much weight I've lost. I just don't won't anyone to look at what I've done so far and say that I still have such a long way to go. Or know exactly just how heavy I had gotten. Has anyone else felt this way?

  12. I noticed that I no longer needed to take a stool softener since eating broccoli. He won't let me snack. I feel like he's trying to break my old grazing habit. He's happy with my progress but I want to make sure I am doing my best with this opportunity. Thanks for replying!

  18. My weight when I started my 4 week pre opp diet was 300 pounds and I am 5'2. I asked him for some goals today, and he told me not to worry. Just to follow the plan. I told him that I take in 400-500 calories a day, and he was happy with that. I have been measuring 2 ounces of meat. If I don't I feel like I'm not getting enough Protein. And I am still doing a Protein shake for Breakfast. (3 meals/no snacks) I am exercising, I walk an hour or more a day. Also I have added working out with lite weights. To try to avoid a whole lot of sagging. I don't doubt him, I just need more structure. I guess I feel like I've messed up b/c I WANT my veggies. I cannot get enough steamed broccoli. I have probably ate more veggies than I should have. By that I mean I've eaten a bite of meat with veggies. I guess I won't put the veggies on my plate anymore.

  20. I am almost 2 months post op and down 50 pounds. I don't have a NUT, my surgeon has been giving me all of my instructions. I use my fitness pal and my Fitbit to track everything. But, I was just wondering if anyone else's surgeon is so vague. I have no goals; by that I mean no Protein, no calorie, no carb goals. Also, he never tells me how many ounces I can have of meat. He only shows me a size using his hand. Currently I can have: eggs, cheese, fish, chicken, turkey, soft veggies, and today he added steak (cooked rare) and salad. I am supposed to eat all my protein first and then if I am still hungry I can eat my veggies. But I was just wondering what everyone else was doing. I don't see him again until February so I want to make sure I have a major weight loss by then. Thanks!

  24. I live in Wetumpka AL. I am 12 days post op for gastric sleeve and feeling great.
  25. I had a great post op visit with my surgeon. He's so funny to me, I went in hoping I would be graduating to puréed foods. Boy was I surprised, my diet for the next two weeks is as follows. 1 egg Breakfast 1 piece of cheese lunch ( substitute Protein shake if I prefer) 1 golf ball size portion of tuna for dinner. That's it! He doesn't care in what order I eat them as long as that's what I eat. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
  26. I have been worried about this too, I love grapes so I hope the peel doesn't give me any trouble. When I can actually eat again. Lol!

  29. Thanks everybody! I will definitely follow up with a NUT. I met with her so early on in this process it's hard to remember everything she discussed. I started going through all the requirements in November and just had my surgery on the 8th of Sept. I really haven't been given a whole lot of direction, I keep looking back over all my post op papers but the diet is so vague. I have been struggling with getting all my water in. I sip most of the day but I have been sleeping a lot too. Also I can really taste a difference in the Slim Fast shake, they seem so sweet to me now. Gonna fully switch over to the Matix protein powder. Today was my first time trying juice. I bought Welch's grape juice with no sugar added. I did delute it half juice and half water. I added half a portion of no flavor protein to try to help get my protein in today. Lord I hope I didn't mess myself up by doing that.????
  30. Before my surgery I would get a spoonful of Peanut Butter if I were hungry or having a craving. Can we have peanut butter after a certain time? Can we have sugar free pudding after some time? Is anybody adding Protein to their fruit juice? Lastly, my Protein shakes. Is Slim Fast Protein a suitable shake? Right now I am only drinking one a day. I have Matrix protein but I like it with low fat milk and ice.(wasn't sure if I could have that during my liquid phase.) I am concerned I not get near enough protein right now. Thanks Renee
  31. I read somewhere that you cannot chew gum after surgery. I have always chewed gum to help curb my appetite and can't help but wonder if it would help during this liquid phase. Does anyone chew gum now after surgery?
  32. I had mine on Sept. 8th also. I am still dealing with the gas pains, but I have noticed the walking helps. I know that I'm not hungry but mentally I am struggling with wanting something more solid. I have been on a liquid diet for 6 weeks now. I never really understood why my doctor made me start my liquid diet so early. Anyways, I just signed up on this app and already feel encouraged by the fact that my feelings are normal.
