  1. Got home this afternoon. Still pretty sore and working hard to get enough fluids. Yesterday's surgery was, according to my doctor, the smoothest case he'd had all day. The worst part was how much my throat was hurting, buts it's better today. Sipping on chicken broth while I type this. Can't wait to hear how our 10/6 friends are doing. Good luck to everyone on the 7th!
  2. I just got home myself a few minutes ago. How do you feel?
  3. I got got home. Staying at my mom's for a night or two. Sore and tired and getting enough fluids is tough but it'll get better.
  4. Surgery went really well yesterday. My doctor said it was his smoothest case all day. Pain is 3-4. I'm allergic to narcotic pain meds so just doing Tylenol from the start. It'd probably be 0-1 with pain medicine. Worst part is how sore and dry throat was/is, causing some coughing. Otherwise doing well. Hardly slept. I can never sleep in hospital. Good luck today!
  5. Oh man. I keep coughing a little and it's awful. Can't fathom hiccups. Hope they stopped
  6. Just got to hospital. Surgery in 2 hours. Here we go! Let's do this thing!
  7. Marcia and Nancy. I'm sorry you had to postpone. I can only imagine how frustrating that is. I'm glad your doctor's are being safe though. Thats so important. And once everything is safe it'll be your turns and we'll all be rooting for you!
  8. Oh good luck!! Let us know how you do. I'll be waiting on nerves until the afternoon. But by this time tomorrow it'll be over. Wow
  9. I think you meant 5th. And thank you!!!
  10. Welcome to the family I'm tomorrow too. It definitely doesn't feel real yet. I know what you mean. Good luck. We got this.
  11. Nerves have been up all week but for some reason I feel much more at peace this weekend. Maybe I got it out of my system. Hehe. At any rate I'm sure I'll be nervous as heck again on Monday morning. Surgery is 2:15 pm Monday.
  12. Just got my surgery time for Monday = 2:15pm. It's going to be a loooooong anxious morning I'm sure.
  13. I'm excited to go on all the coasters in hersheypark with my kids. We had season passes this year and I had a depressing time sitting on benches people watching while everyone else was on the rides. I love coasters, all kinds, and we're renewing our season passes, so I cannot wait. I'm also excited to try doing a color run sometime. And getting back in my garden without pain. Maybe even dating again. There's so much to look forward to!
  14. Does anyone have recommendations for greek yogurt without chunks of fruit in it (but not plain or vanilla)? I can't seem to find any that are totally smooth. Thanks!
  15. That's a great idea. I'm on the 5th so I'll do my best to post as soon as I can post op. Right now I love those posts from people freshly post op. They make me feel less nervous.
  16. I'm scheduled with Dr R for my sleeve in just over two weeks from now (10/5) at the same hospital. I know this is an older post but I'd be curious to hear about your experience.
  17. I know this is an older post but I'm being sleeved at CGOH on October 5th with one of Dr DiMarco's partners at pinnacle health weight loss. How was your experience there?
  18. From Mechanicsburg PA area. Sleeve schedule for 10/5/15!
  19. Thank you all! I'm feeling much better about this now. I think as I'm getting closer to the surgery date I'm finding more little worries cropping up. It's exciting but nerve wracking!
  20. I have preathorization for medical necessity from my insurance to get the sleeve. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on October 5th and attended a preop class last night (required for patients at my doctors office prior to surgery) At the class the nurse went over what to expect on surgery day. She said they weigh you at the hospital both for anesthesia (makes sense) and "for insurance" So now I'm nervous that if I lose weight during a preop liquid diet that it might change my qualification for insurance. Is that something that could happen despite preathorization??? I don't want to wake up from surgery and find out I have an enormous bill to pay. Worrying a little. I'm a 42 bmi so technically because of several comorbidities. I could drop as low as 35 bmi and still qualify, I think. But I'd rather not test that theory. My doctor doesn't require a liquid diet preop unless you have a Bmi over 50 but I was going to do it for a week anyway. Maybe I shouldn't? Thoughts from anyone? Thanks!
  21. I've been looking through this thread off and on all day. You all look AMAZING. It is really inspiring. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on 10/5 and right now this all still seems like a completely unattainable fantasy to me. I hope to have the kind of success I'm seeing on this thread. I'm excitedly nervous for some big changes to come Hopefully in a year from now I'll be posting my own successes!
