  1. @@goblue9280 Thank you, your diet sounds just like mine except that I'm eating 2/3 c. I think thats what I will stick with for awhile since it seems to be working! I appreciate the feed back!
  2. I asked this question on another thread but thought I would ask you all how much you eat at a time each meal? I'm at 7.5 weeks. From 2 weeks to 6 weeks my Nut. wanted me eating 1/2 cup of food 3x a day. No problem for me. When I went back at 6 weeks she said to increase to 2/3 cup which I'm doing now & to increase to 1 cup by 3 months my next appt. That seems like a lot so soon. I'm having no problems with the 2/3 cup of soft foods but I don't think I could eat 2/3 c of meat. Most everything else that I see other's not eating near as much. Curious as to how much you all are eating & what your Nut. says how much you should & will be eating.
  3. @@miiasan I think you may be in the majority, I don't know why for me so much. I only eat 3x a day with 1 snack of a low fat mozzarella string cheese. I get 60 to 70g of protein in with added premiere protein or unflavored protein every day along with 64oz water. I'm satisfied so I think I will stay right here at 2/3 cup until 3 months then see what they think.
  4. @@Threetimesacharm I think I could probably eat more but i just stop at that amount. This kinda scares me because it seems like everyone has such a hard time with their amounts & I haven't struggled with anything. Meat is the only thing that I can only eat so much of 1/2 c, although I haven't tried beyond 2/3 cup on soft foods.
  5. @@s0rda You can tell a difference, although I think you are very pretty in both pictures!!! You go girl!!!
  6. I was eating 1/2 cup of food per-meal from 2 weeks to 6 weeks post RNY Surgery. I'm now eating at 7 1/2 weeks post surgery, 2/3 cup at a time. My nut. wants me to be eating 1 cup of food per meal by my 3 month appt. Does this sound right? I thought I wouldn't be at that point not until about 6 months. Curious as to what other's eating amounts is during a meal.
  7. I was wondering how much everyone's Dr. or nut. is telling them to eat at a time during a meal. I was at 1/2 cup from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. I'm eating at 7 weeks 2/3 cup at a time of food. My Nut. wants me to be at 1 cup of food per meal by 3 months. Does this sound right? I thought I wouldn't be at 1 cup until at least 6 months. I do get full quicker with meats, but Soups, I believe I could eat more.
  8. I'm having the same issue!! I thought I was getting a spider bite or something? I have a bout 4 small looking bites on my belly that itch & slightly hurt! Everything is going well 7 1/2 weeks out from surgery, strange!
  9. @@tbella67 I was the same as you when I first went to see my Doctor, I was going in for the Sleeve. They said I was a good candidate for the RNY Bypass. Scared me, it sounded so invasive!!! So I did my research, talk to people who had had all three from the band to the RNY bypass. After all my research & talking over with the Dr. who has done over 4000 Bypass surgery's I decided to do what he suggested was right for me, the RNY bypass. I had it done Oct.8th this year & have been very happy with the results & wasn't near as painful as I thought it could be. Much easier. If you have acid reflux they say the RNY bypass is a better choice. I have a friend who had the RNY Bypass, at the same time his 2 younger brother's had the sleeve. After they all reached their goal, his brother's who had the sleeve began regaining most of their weight. My Dr. said, what he has seen now after the sleeve has been out for awhile, that some people were regaining their weight more often than the RNY Bypass. I didn't want to go through the process again. Don't let this discourage you what ever you choose. Many people have been successful with the sleeve, as well as the band. I know the RNY bypass is working for me so far. I have lost 21 lbs in 7 weeks since surgery. I don't even feel like I have had surgery except no hunger & I get full quickly. Best of luck to you what ever you choose!!!
  10. @@Dar200 I love cottage cheese too, eat it at least once a day!!! The unflavored protein powder has helped me a lot! And the chicken broth flavor is good added to a lot of soups, like my homemade ham & split pea! Keep trying it gets better all the time!! How are you doing on your weight loss?
  11. @@soonergirl619 Glad your doing great & your weight loss is Awesome!! I'm down 20 lbs. & feeling great! I'm a little slower at loosing but my age (I just turned 60 but don't tell anyone could be a huge factor ! ) Great game last night! Go Sooners!!!!!!
  12. @@kjacobs I use the Unjury unflavored & it doesn't seem to have much to me!!! I add it to a lot of things!
  13. @@GBLady41 We feel like your part of our group too!! You should be ready for all the ups & downs of this surgery!! I'm still very glad I went through with it!!!
  14. @@Mogwaicat You have every right to feel down! Not being able to get your protein in isn't fun!! I made some ham & split pea soup & added some chicken broth flavored protein powder in it. It tasted better than anything to me. Hope you can find something soon!!! Sending you bunches of hugs!!

  16. @@395Ron Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!!!!! I made my pie, haven't tried it yet! going to smother it in the sugar &fat free whip cream!!!!!! Made some deviled eggs too ! & of course Turkey! I should be good for the day!!!!!
  17. @@sarahbethemails Glad you mentioned this I had my RNY on 10/8 & the last 3 days my back & ribs feel sore & achy!! I drink my 64oz & get my 60g of protein in, just had my 6 week blood work & haven't heard from them. Maybe its the shift of body weight? I have lost 20 lbs since surgery! You are doing great!!!
  18. @@cjd2010 I went to my GP a month before my surgery for anxiety and she put me on a mild dose of anxiety meds Paxil, and it has helped tremendously!! I think I will stay on them.
  19. @@kvoneye Sending you hugs!!! You have done fantastic so far! When I have a day that I don't want to eat which was yesterday I just added protein powder to my drink. I only count protein to get at least 60g so I don't loose muscle. Are you able to do some walking? I have to make myself go walk but while I'm walking it gives me a new perspective on things & I seem to do my best thinking. Hoping your able to get your protein in today! Best of luck!!
  20. @@miiasan It sounds like we are moving along about the same pace. I'm happy with the weight loss & don't care how fast as long as it moves in the right direction! I'm with you, I'm happy & feeling better than ever!!!! Thats worth a lot! We may not be the first to reach our goals but we won't be the last!!! Heading to victory!!!
  21. @@Cali_Angel Glad things are moving for you ! Especially the scale!
  22. @@sleevemylife Ugh!!! I feel so bad for you! That is a horrible feeling!!!! What has your Doctor said about it? Do you think you may have developed a lactose intolerance? I had nausea pills when I came home from the hospital but I never used them. So sorry your having to go through this! let us know how your feeling tomorrow or what your Dr. said!
  23. Great news!! How cute you look on the video!!! You are doing so well! Congratulations!!!
  24. @@395Ron I have only had ham from a thick ham slice that I chopped up pretty good for split pea soup. I had no trouble with it. Oh yes, I had a slice of deli ham thin slice of virginia ham wrapped around a lowfat mozzerella string cheese stick. While I ate it slowly, I had no problem with it either. But mind you I haven't had much problems with anything other than grilled chicken & pork which I just get full fast on. Try just very little bites & chew chew chew & wait for the next bite to see if it goes down ok. I find the longer I wait between bites the better I do. very hard for me, I always eat too fast!
  25. I thought I would re-post this recipe for some of you feeling like you might miss out on pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. I have not tried it yet but will!
