Where do you live @Jerr_Berr? Some travel to Texas and use the clinic I am using (Nicholson clinic) as they check for hiatal hernia (most obese patients have at least a small one and they'll find it!) and will use your general surgery benefits for most of the cost with then add on a small cost for the sleeve separately that they allow you to pay out at $100/mo. I meet Dr Long the 14th of October and had my EGD last Friday where they found hernia. I am in the same boat as most of you hernia/sleeve route. After I meet Dr Long I wonder how long I will wait ? Will I have a list of things to do ( I am cleared through True Results) so I am hoping I just get to schedule surgery. Labs have been tracked, heart checked, EGD done..anyone go through True Results? I met Dr. Carlton yesterday. Love his personality! He did the EGD and I wish he were my surgeon but they put me with Dr. Long , who I am sure is great too. Anyone have Dr. Long? I was wondering how it would have been to go straight to Nicholson. I live close to Dallas so I am local. Oh , I didn't know about the psych clearance. Is that for insurance or does everyone have to do that part? I was hoping for September too but they drug their feet in my cardiac clearance. I have a heart condition and got to do some fun and expensive heart testing but it took 3 weeks to get results that should have been reviewed immediately. Good luck with your psych eval and I hope it's scheduled soon for you. It's hard to be patient and hard to be out of the loop on some of the details which is where I have found myself sometimes. Ladisani let me know how it goes. I am using Dr. Nicholson and my EGD is September 11th (so close to yours). They told me he would be 6 weeks out for surgery, so sounds like yours will be quicker with Carlton!! I am so curious exactly how this last phase will go! Hoping it is smooth now as I have had some bumps since early June. It seems to have gone fast and slow! haha

I go in Sept 11th with Nicholson for the first EGD to check for hiatal hernia. I was told it would be 6 weeks after this EGD that I would have surgery. Lacfish13 did you have the EGD and find there was no hernia? I am not sure if they'll find one with me or not, but for costs sake it would be nice. I am hoping for the hernia! It sounds weird but I do have reflux sometimes and do want the ins to cover a lot of this!! Let me know what your processes have been with True Results/ Nicholson, please. Thank you!
